ObjectiveBased on modern analytical techniques and a depressed mouse model established by chronic unpredictable mild stress（CUMS）， to evaluate the quality marker（Q-Marker） and pharmacodynamic difference of Baihe Dihuangtang prepared by different processes. MethodsHigh performance liquid chromatography（HPLC） was used to establish the characteristic profiles of Baihe Dihuangtang， and determine the content of Q-Marker in the samples prepared by ancient and modern processes. Seventy C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into the normal group， model group， fluoxetine group（3 mg·kg^-1）， low and high dose groups of ancient process（6.5， 26 g·kg^-1）， and low and high dose groups of modern process（6.5， 26 g·kg^-1）， with 10 mice in each group. Except for the normal group， CUMS was used to induce depression in mice from the other groups for 28 d. After successful modeling， administration groups were given the corresponding drugs by gavage every day， and the normal and model groups were given an equal volume of pure water by gavage for 21 consecutive days. Change in body mass of mice was recorded， tail suspension test and open field test were used to evaluate the depressive behavior of mice， and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay（ELISA） was employed to determine the contents of tumor necrosis factor-α（TNF-α）， interleukin（IL）-1β and IL-6 in serum. ResultsCharacteristic profiles of Baihe Dihuangtang prepared by the two processes were established， the similarity between the two was 0.951， and 8 characteristic peaks were recognized with the reference peak of regaloside A. The results of quantitative analysis showed that the Q-Marker content was similar in Baihe Dihuangtang prepared by ancient and modern processes. The results of pharmacodynamics showed that， compared with the normal group， the model group showed increased immobility time in the tail suspension test， reduced total movement distance in the open field test， and elevated IL-1β， IL-6 and TNF-α levels in the serum（P<0.01）. Compared with the model group， the behavioral indicators of mice in the Baihe Dihuangtang treatment group were significantly improved in terms of tail suspension time and open field exercise， and the levels of IL-1β， IL-6 and TNF-α in serum were significantly reduced（P<0.05， P<0.01）. Baihe Dihuangtang prepared by the two processes both had antidepressant effects， and the difference between the two was not statistically significant in improving depressive symptoms. ConclusionQ-Marker of Baihe Dihuangtang prepared by modern and ancient methods are equivalent in content， and the pharmacological effects are consistent， indicating that dried Lilii Bulbus can replace fresh products in the preparation of Baihe Dihuangtang. This study provides a scientific basis for the development of new drugs of Baihe Dihuangtang and a reference for its rational application and clinical use.

Baihe Dihuangtang is a famous classical formula that has been respected by physicians in the past and is still used today. It was first recorded in ZHANG Zhongjing's Synopsis of the Golden Chamber， and is composed of Lilii Bulbus and Rehmanniae Radix juice. This paper systematically reviewed the research progress of historical evolution， pharmacological activities and clinical applications of Baihe Dihuangtang in recent years， and found that there was no major changes in the composition， decoction method and indications of this formula since the Han dynasty. According to the herbal textual research， the fleshy scaly leaves of Lilium brownii var. viridulum should be selected for Lilii Bulbus in this formula， and the tuberous roots of Rehmannia glutinosa were selected for Rehmanniae Radix. According to the dosage conversion of ancient and modern times， the dosage is 245 g of fresh Lilii Bulbus and 400 g of fresh Rehmanniae Radix， and the ratio of their juice is 1∶1. Its efficacy is to nourish Yin and clear heat， and to tonify the heart and lungs， which is used to treat the heart and lung Yin deficiency syndrome of lily disease. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that the research on the pharmacological effects of Baihe Dihuangtang mainly focuses on anti-depressant， anti-anxiety， improving insomnia and regulating metabolism， and it is mostly used clinically for neurological disorders such as depression， anxiety and insomnia. The quality marker（Q-Marker） of Baihe Dihuangtang were predicted according to the principles of ingredient specificity， component validity， component measurability， formula compatibility， and quality transmissibility and traceability， and it was determined that catalpol， rhmannioside D， regaloside A， regaloside B， regaloside C， and acteoside could be selected as potential Q-Markers of Baihe Dihuangtang， which could provide scientific reference for the establishment of the quality control system and the development of compound preparation of this famous classical formula.

By sorting out the literature related to constitution and referring to the concept and method of "element"， many ancient and modern theories of constitution are deconstructed into multi-dimensional "constitution elements". These constitution elements are divided into two levels： basic and derivative. The basic level is the most basic element of constitution， including zang-fu organs/body and material. The zang-fu organs/body dimension focuses on the fixed functional units in the human body， and the material dimension focuses on the rheology functional units of human body. The derivative level is the secondary physiological or psychological state in life activities， including emotion and qi transformation. The emotional dimension focuses on the state of human psychological activities， and the qi transformation dimension focuses on the state of human physiological activities in cold， heat， dampness， and dryness. Based on this， we can further study the influence of factors such as age， gender， region， and social class， on the combination rule of "constitution element"， so as to form a more comprehensive classification program of constitution.

A 64-year-old female patient with bilateral knee joint pain received Hehe pills 10 g twice daily by herself. After 2 months of treatment, she stopped taking the medicine. On the 10th day after discontinuation of medication, yellowish skin, mucosa, and sclera appeared. Laboratory tests showed alanine aminotransferase 274 U/L, aspartate aminotransferase 274 U/L, alkaline phosphatase 713 U/L, total bilirubin 412.7 mmol/L, direct bilirubin 216.2 mmol/L. Severe liver injury caused by Hehe pills was considered. Symptomatic and supportive treatments including liver protection and jaundice reduction, and bilirubin adsorption were given. One month later, the yellowish skin, mucosa, and sclera in the patient were significantly improved, and 2 months later, liver function returned to normal. The patient′s liver injury was most likely related to the Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix, Aconiti Radix, Olibanum, and Myrrha contained in Hehe pills.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of ferritin,procalcitonin (PCT) and C-reactive protein (CRP) on infectious diseases.Methods A total of 190 patients with infectious diseases in our hospital from 2012 to 2017 were enrolled and analysed retrospectively.Among them,bacterial infection was found in 130 cases (bacterial infection group),and viral infection in 60 cases (viral infection group).Serum levels of erritin,CRP,PCT in 190 patients were deteceted for further statistical analysis.Results Among the 190 cases of infectious fever,serum levels of erritin,CRP,PCT in bacterial infection group were higher than that in the viral infection group,with significant difference.The receiver operating curve (ROC) curve analysis showed that area under curve (AUC) of CRP,PCT,ferritin were 0.797,0.803,0.883.Conclusions The present study identified ferritin,PCT and CRP that should be considered in the differential diagnosis of infectious diseases,providing useful information for future diagnosis.

BACKGROUND:The autologous oxygen-delivering biomimetic nanoscaffold is composited with chondrocytes in simulated microgravity to construct the active tissue-engineered bone, which not only has excel ent osteogenic potential characteristics, but also has autologous releasing oxygen, and additional y can effectively prevent early transplant failure caused by sufficient revascularization and hypoxia. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of autologous oxygen-delivering biomimetic nanoscaffold composited with chondrocytes on repairing different types of temporomandibular joint condylar fractures. METHODS:Total y 30 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into control group, experimental groups 1 and 2 (n=10 per group). The autologous oxygen-delivering nano-hydroxyapatite/chitosan scaffold composited with chondrocytes were transplanted into rats with temporomandibular joint condylar longitudinal fracture in the experimental group 1 and those with temporomandibular joint condylar transverse fracture in the experimental group 2, respectively. At 1, 3 and 6 weeks after transplantation, the number of proliferating cel nuclear antigen-positive cel s was detected by immunofluorescence assay;the chondrocyte apoptosis was detected using TUNEL method, and expressions of col agen type II, Sox9 and vascular endothelial growth factor were observed by RT-PCR technology. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The number of proliferating cel nuclear antigen-positive cel s in the experimental groups 1 and 2 were significantly higher than that in the control group at different time points after transplantation (P<0.05). At 3 and 6 weeks after transplantation, the number of apoptotic chondrocytes in the experimental groups 1 and 2 was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05);significantly higher and highest expressions of col agen type II, Sox9 and vascular endothelial growth factor were found in the experimental groups 2 and 1 compared with the control group, respectively (P<0.05). Additional y, compared with the experimental group 2, the number of proliferating cel nuclear antigen-positive cel s was significantly lower in the experimental group 1 at 3 and 6 weeks after transplantation (P<0.05);the number of apoptotic chondrocytes was significantly lower in the experimental group 1 at 3 weeks after transplantation (P<0.05). These results indicate that autologous oxygen-delivering biomimetic nanoscaffold composited with chondrocytes to repair different types of temporomandibular joint condylar fractures presents some different outcomes.

OBJECTIVETo construct a three-dimensional (3D) liver model of Wuzhishan mini-pig for virtual liver surgeries.

METHODSThe biliary tree and hepatic arteries of Wuzhishan mini-pig were perfused with perchloroethylene and ethyl acetate along mixed with lead oxide, and the hepatic vein and portal vein were perfused with a mixture of dental base acrylic resin and lead oxide. The sectional images were acquired using a 64-slice spiral CT, and the 3D models of the portal vein, hepatic vein, biliary tree, hepatic arteries, and liver parenchyma were reconstructed using Mimics software; the resection image of the liver was also designed. The intrahepatic vascular cast was prepared by corroding the soft tissue with hydrochloric acid.

RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONThe intrahepatic vascular cast obtained fully retained the vascular architecture and displayed the fifth- and sixth-level branches of the hepatic vein and portal vein and the third- and fourth-level branches of the artery and bile duct. The 3D model of liver allowed stereoscopic and accurate display of the third- and fourth-level branches of the hepatic vein and portal vein and the second- and third-level branches of the artery and bile duct. The 3D model showed fewer branches but represented the structural distribution identical to the cast. The 3D model could clearly display the spatial relationship between the vasculature and the soft tissue in virtual resection of the liver tissues, and thus provides a useful model for training of laparoscopic liver resection.
