Modified electroconvulsive therapy (MECT) and magnetic seizure therapy (MST) are effective treatments for severe major depression. MECT has better efficacy in the treatment than MST, but it has cognitive and memorial side effects while MST does not. To study the causes of these different outcomes, this study contrasted the electric filed strength and spatial distribution induced by MECT and MST in a realistic human head model. Electric field strength induced by MECT and MST are simulated by the finite element method, which was based on a realistic human head model obtained by magnetic resonance imaging. The electrode configuration of MECT is standard bifrontal stimulation configuration, and the coil configuration of MST is circular. Maps of the ratio of the electric field strength to neural activation threshold are obtained to evaluate the stimulation strength and stimulation focality in brain regions. The stimulation strength induced by MECT is stronger than MST, and the activated region is wider. MECT stimulation strength in gray matter is 17.817 times of that by MST, and MECT stimulation strength in white matter is 23.312 times of that by MST. As well, MECT stimulation strength in hippocampi is 35.162 times of that by MST. More than 99.999% of the brain volume is stimulated at suprathreshold by MECT. However, MST activated only 0.700% of the brain volume. The stimulation strength induced by MECT is stronger than MST, and the activated region is wider may be the reason that MECT has better effectiveness. Nevertheless, the stronger stimulation strength in hippocampi induced by MECT may be the reason that MECT is more likely to give rise to side effects. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that a more accurate clinical quantitative treatment scheme should be studied in the future.

Bioartificial liver support system (BALSS) provides a new way to treat liver failure and leaves more time for patients who are waiting for liver transplantation. It has detoxification function as well as the human liver, at the same time it can provide nutrition and improve the internal environment inside human body. Bioreactors and hepatocytes with good biological activity are the cores of BALSS which determine the treatment effect. However, in the course of prolonged treatment, the function and activity of hepatocytes might be greatly changed which could influence the efficacy. Therefore, it is very important to detect the status of the hepatocytes in BALSS. This paper presents some common indicators of cell activity, detoxification and synthetic functions, and also introduces the commonly detection methods corresponding to each indicator. Finally, we summarize the application of detection methods of the hepatocyte status in BALSS and discuss its development trend.

Objective To master the actual work efficiency situation of emergency inspection, analyze the existing problems, and provide objective basis for continuous improvement through the statistic analysis of intra-laboratory turn-around time (TAT) median, coincidence rate of inspection report within the specified time limit, report timeout reasons and other indexes of different items of emergency inspection group in 2015.Methods All kinds of original data from the different items of emergency inspection groupswere derived from LIS system, according to the different types of projects in different segments.Microsoft Excel2003 software was used to count the actual TAT time of various items, and function was used to calculate TAT median; The non-conformance rate (inspection report timeout rate) and coincidence rate within the prescribed time limit by inspection report were calculated, and gather the statistical analysis on the timeout reasons of daily recorded report. Results With the exception of electrochemical luminescence class, the TAT of other items decreased in different degrees of emergency inspection group in 2015 when compared with 2014.The average coincidence rate of inspection report of various items within the time limit was 94.8%,non-conformance rate of inspection report of prescribed time limit was 5.2%.The top four inspection timeout reasons of various items were more number of submitted samples(59.6%),redo the reinspection (12.4%),smear reinspection (12.0%) and equipment failure (10.0%) in turn. Conclusion The time limit of the emergency report meets the specified requirements and statistical analysis of the causes of overtime can find out the problems and take appropriate measures to provide an objective basis for continuous improvement.

Objective To explore the CT characteristics of mycobacteria intracellulare lung disease. Methods CT imaging data of 37 patients with mycobacteria intracellulare lung disease in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively. Results The main CT signs of mycobacteria intracellulare lung disease included centrilobular nodules (97.3%), bronchiectasis (73.0%) and patchy consolidation (54.1%).Fibrous lesion(43.2%), diameter≥1 cm nodules(35.1%)and thin-wall cavity(29.7%) were also common found in patients.Thick-wall cavity and pleural effusion were not common. The typical CT manifestation was bronchiectasis accompany by the centrilobular nodules occurred in the right middle lobe and (or) left lingular lobe. Conclusion CT manifestations of mycobacteria intracellulare lung disease have some characteristics, and CT examination has a certain value in the diagnosis of this disease.

Objective To study the value of RDW in severity evaluation and prognostic assessment of COPD. Methods Retrospective study was carried out on 115 COPD patients and 50 healthy controls. Blood routine, CRP, IL-6 data were collected on admission aiming at analyzing RDW difference in patients and controls, severity, severity grading and evaluation of prognosis. Results The level of CRP, RDW, IL-6 and WBC in patients were higher than that of healthy controls(P < 0.05). Mild and moderate groups have no significant difference from each other in terms of RDW, CRP and IL-6 conparison, but the difference between any other two groups were significant. There were significant positive correlation between RDW and CRP, IL-6, and negative correlations between the post-bronchodilator FEV1% and RDW. The mortality rate for patients with higher RDW level was higher than those with normal RDW. Conclusion Elevated RDW levels on admission are associated with severity of patients with COPD. RDW may be a prognostic marker for COPD.
6.The research progress on NAMPT in malignant tumors
Practical Oncology Journal 2016;30(2):158-161
Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase( NAMPT) is the rate-limiting enzyme that catalyzes the first step in Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide( NAD) biosynthesis and regulates biological processes such as metab-olism,growth and apoptosis of cells. In the past few years,a large number of studies have found that expression level of NAMPT is increased in a variety of malignancies, which is associated with the progression and treatment of malig-nant tumors. The research of the mechanism of NAMPT in malignant tumors and molecule inhibitors of the NAMPT have brought new hope and prospect for the treatment of malignant tumors. This article makes a brief review of NAMPT research status in malignant tumors.

Objective:To explore the relationship between pulmonary function and coronary artery disease (CAD) with the severity of coronary artery lesions in relevant patients.
Methods:A total of 200 patients received coronary angiography (CAG) in our hospital were studied. The patients were divided into 2 groups: Non-CAD group, n=88 and CAD group, n=112. The degree of coronary stenosis was assessed by GENSINI score;the pulmonary function, echocardiography and fasting blood level of brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) were examined in all patients.
Results:Forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) in CAD group (2.33±0.54) L/1s was lower than Non-CAD group (2.63±0.39) L/1s, P=0.04. Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that decreased FEV1 was the independent risk factor for CAD (OR=2.9, 95%CI 1.89-4.23, P<0.01). Spearman correlation analysis showed that FEV1 was negatively related to blood level of BNP (r=-0.54, P<0.01), positively related to the ratio of E/A (r=0.27, P=0.03). GENSINI score was positively related to smoking (r=0.31, P=0.01), diabetes (r=0.19, P=0.03) and negatively related to FEV1 (r=-0.40, P<0.01). With adjusted variables, partial correlation analysis presented that FEV1 was negatively related to GENSINI score (r=-0.21, P=0.01).
Conclusion:Decreased FEV1 is not only related to CAD occurrence, but also related to the degree of coronary stenosis in relevant patients.
