Objective:
To explore the relationship between social jetlag and depressive symptoms in junior high school students, as well as the potential gender differences, so as to provide a reference for developing effective interventions for depressive symptoms and promoting adolescents mental health.
Methods:
In October 2024, a total of 3 516 students from grades 7 to 9 were recruited from 4 junior high schools in Chongqing Municipality using a combination of cluster sampling and convenience sampling. A questionnaire survey was conducted using the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) and the Munich Chronotype Questionnaire (MCTQ). Statistical analyses included the χ 2 test, binary Logistic regression analysis, and stratified Logistic regression analysis.
Results:
The detection rate of depressive symptoms among the junior high school students was 34.3%. The number of students with social jetlag >2 h was 714 (20.3%), >1-2 h was 1 455(41.4%), and ≤1 h was 1 347(38.3%). Results from the binary Logistic regression analysis showed that compared to the group with social jetlag ≤1 h, the risk of depressive symptoms in the group with social jetlag >2 h was higher ( OR=1.59, 95%CI=1.28-1.98, P <0.01). Gender stratified analysis revealed that among females, the risk of depressive symptoms was higher in the groups with social jetlag of >1-2 h and >2 h compared to the ≤1 h group ( OR = 1.34 and 2.05, 95% CI =1.03-1.75 and 1.48-2.83, both P <0.05). However, among males, the associations were not statistically significant ( OR =1.11 and 1.29, 95% CI =0.86-1.43 and 0.95-1.77, both P >0.05).
Conclusions
Social jetlag is positively associated with depressive symptoms in junior high school students, demonstrating a threshold effect and gender differences. The findings suggest that reducing social jetlag may decrease the risk of depressive symptoms in adolescents, and targeted intervention measures should be developed considering different gender characteristics.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of modified pelvic floor reconstruction in non-nerve-sparing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (NNS RARP) for improving postoperative urinary control. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 79 prostate cancer patients who underwent NNS RARP at Tangdu Hospital during Jan.2020 and Dec.2023, including 29 in the reconstruction group, and 50 in the non-reconstruction group. The baseline characteristics including age, body mass index, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level, clinical stage, prostate volume, and biopsy Gleason score, and perioperative indexes including operation time, intraoperative blood loss, catheter indwelling time, complication rate, and positive rate of surgical margins were compared between the two groups. Additionally, urinary continence function was assessed before operation and 1,3,6, and 12 months after operation using the international consultation on incontinence questionnaire-short form (ICIQ-SF) and the incontinence quality of life questionnaire score (I-QoL). Results No statistically significant differences were observed in the baseline characteristics between the two groups (P>0.05). The operation time was significantly longer in the reconstruction group than in the non-reconstruction group [ (110.24±15.08) min vs. (101.80±9.89) min, P=0.010]. There were no significant differences in intraoperative blood loss, catheter indwelling time, complication rate, and positive rate of surgical margins between the two groups (P>0.05). The reconstruction group demonstrated significantly lower ICIQ-SF scores at 1 month [ (10.17±2.16) vs. (11.56±1.66), P=0.002],3 months [ (7.62±1.29) vs. (9.52±1.80), P<0.001], and 6 months postoperatively [ (4.93±1.22) vs. (6.18± 1.67), P=0.001]compared to the non-reconstruction group (adjusted P<0.0125). Conversely, the I-QoL scores were significantly higher in the reconstruction group at 1 month [ (73.32±10.30) vs. (63.88±9.55), P<0.001]and 3 months postoperatively [ (78.91±4.82) vs. (75.66±5.17), P=0.007] (adjusted P<0.0125). However, no significant differences were found in ICIQ-SF or I-QoL scores between the two groups preoperatively and 12 months postoperatively (adjusted P>0.0125). Conclusion The application of modified pelvic floor reconstruction technique in NNS RARP is safe and feasible. Although it slightly prolongs the operation time, it does not increase surgical risks; instead, it effectively promotes early recovery of postoperative urinary continence, thereby significantly enhancing patients'quality of life.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(12):1765-1770
Objective:
To explore the association between various components of sleep quality and the co-occurrence of non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) behaviors and depressive symptoms among junior high school students, so as to provide evidence for targeted prevention strategies of NSSI and depression.
Methods:
From May to June 2024, a total of 5 008 junior high school students from 8 schools in 2 districts/counties of Chongqing were selected through a stratified cluster sampling method. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D), and the Adolescent Non suicidal Self injury Assessment Questionnaire (ANSAQ) were used to assess sleep quality, depressive symptoms, and NSSI, respectively. Data were analyzed by using the Chi-square test, Bonferroni correction, and multivariate Logistic regression.
Results:
Non-NSSI group and depressive symptoms group accounted for 68.11% among junior high school students, NSSI-only group accounted for 4.71%, only depressive symptoms group accounted for 14.94%, and co-occurrence of NSSI and depressive symptoms group accounted for 12.24%. The prevalence of the co-occurrence group was higher in girls (16.39%) than in boys (7.85%) ( χ 2=84.89, P <0.01). After controlling for gender, grade, and boarding status etc., multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that five sleep components, including subjective sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep duration, sleep disturbances, and daytime dysfunction, were significantly and positively associated with the co-occurrence of NSSI and depressive symptoms ( OR =1.30-3.86, all P <0.05). The strength of association between these components and the co-occurrence group, in descending order, was: daytime dysfunction ( OR = 2.52), sleep disturbances ( OR =2.36), subjective sleep quality ( OR =1.76), sleep latency ( OR =1.44), and sleep duration ( OR =1.22) (all P <0.01).
Conclusions
The co-occurrence of NSSI and depressive symptoms is prevalent among junior high school students, with girls being more significantly affected. Sleep disturbances and daytime dysfunction may represent particularly important risk factors. Targeted and prioritized intervention strategies addressing specific sleep components should be developed and implemented to reduce the co-occurrence of NSSI and depressive symptoms in junior high school students.

Objective:To explore the time variations of the influence of the ultra-high dose rate irradiation (FLASH irradiation, FLASH-IR) and conventional dose rate irradiation (CONV-IR) of electron beams under different doses on the energy metabolism of triple-negative breast cancer cells MDA-MB-231.Methods:The basal metabolism of the MDA-MB-231 cells and normal breast epithelial cells MCF-10A was compared using a Seahorse XF Pro Metabolic Analyzer. Based on an irradiation platform with a thermionic cathode electron accelerator (6 MeV), the MDA-MB-231 cells were exposed to FLASH-IR (106 Gy/s) and CONV-IR (0.1 Gy/s) at 2 and 14 Gy, respectively. Meanwhile, a sham irradiation group was established under identical culture conditions. The mitochondrial metabolism and glycolytic metabolism of the cells at 4, 24, and 48 h post-irradiation were analyzed. Results:Compared to the MCF-10A cells, the MDA-MB-231 cells exhibited a greater reliance on glycolytic metabolism. Compared to those of the sham irradiation group, MDA-MB-231 cells in the 2 Gy CONV-IR group showed up-regulated ATP-linked respiration at 4, 24, and 48 h post-irradiation ( t = 2.69-3.70, P < 0.05). Their glycolytic level and glycolytic capacity were up-regulated only at 4 h post-irradiation and were down-regulated at 48 h ( t = 2.79, -4.44, P < 0.05). In contrast, there was no statistically significant difference in these indicators between the FLASH-IR and CONV-IR groups ( P > 0.05). However, the proton leak of the MDA-MB-231 cells in the FLASH-IR group was relatively down-regulated at 4 h post-irradiation and was significantly up-regulated at 24 h and 48 h post-irradiation compared with the CONV-IR group ( t = -2.45, 3.19, 6.51, P < 0.05). At 14 Gy, the MDA-MB-231 cells in the CONV-IR group showed progressively increased mitochondrial and glycolytic metabolism across all time points ( t = 2.48-12.14, P < 0.05). Notably, compared with the CONV-IR group, the MDA-MB-231 cells in the FLASH-IR group exhibited more significantly up-regulated basal respiration, ATP-linked respiration, and non-mitochondrial oxygen consumption ( t = 2.56-6.51, P < 0.05), as well as a higher glycolytic capacity at 24 h post-irradiation ( t = 2.86, P < 0.05). Conclusions:Low-dose (2 Gy) FLASH-IR induces relatively up-regulated proton leak in breast cancer cells MDA-MB-231 at 24 h post-irradiation. In contrast, under high-dose (14 Gy) FLASH-IR, the MDA-MB-231 cells show more pronounced mitochondrial metabolic stress and a higher demand for energy metabolism.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and feasibility of a domestically developed robotic surgical system based on fiber-optic dedicated line communication in cross-regional urological telesurgery. Methods:This was multicenter,single-arm,retrospective case series study. The data of patients who underwent urological telesurgeries using the telesurgical system between January 2023 and December 2024 were analyzed. The cohort included 59 patients from seven hospitals across China. Among the patients,47 were male(79.7%)and 12 were female(20.3%),with a median age of 63.0(56.0,68.0)years and a body mass index of(24.7 ± 3.0)kg/m 2. Surgical procedures included 32 radical prostatectomies,24 partial nephrectomies, one radical nephrectomy, one adrenalectomy, and one ureteral reconstruction. The perioperative indicators, pathological results and postoperative complications were analyzed. The network monitoring data were collected, and the perioperative data of patients, remote system monitoring data and costs were compared between the two communication modes of optical transport network(OTN)and cloud-connect network(CCN). Results:All 59 remote surgeries were successfully completed, with a mean operative time of(138.0 ± 54.0)minutes,median intraoperative blood loss of 50.0(30.0,100.0)ml and a postoperative hospital stay of 5.0(4.0,6.0)days. No cases required reoperation,Clavien-Dindo grade ≥3 complications,or readmission. The geographical distance between the primary and remote surgical sites ranged from 450 to 2 800 km. Network monitoring revealed increased bidirectional latency with distance increasing:the shortest latency time(Hefei-Hangzhou,450 km)was(16.59 ± 0.80)ms,while the longest(Harbin-Hangzhou,2 200 km)latency time was(53.31 ± 0.31)ms. Average frame loss per procedure was 0?1.27 frames. The results of subgroup analysis comparing OTN and CCN communication modes showed no significant differences in operative time[(130.7 ± 70.5)minutes vs.(142.1 ± 42.9)minutes, P = 0.442],postoperative hospitalization[6.0(4.0,8.0)d vs. 5.0(4.0,6.0)d, P = 0.581],or readmission rates(0 vs. 0). However,CCN demonstrated significant cost advantages with 500 RMB per operation vs. 3 000 RMB per operation for OTN. Conclusions:Urological telesurgery using fiber-optic communication is feasible. The CCN mode, with its cost-effectiveness,excellent usability, and multi-point interconnection flexibility,is currently the preferred communication model for telesurgical applications.
