Hospital culture refers to the unique values and hospital spirit forged in the long-term provision of medical services,which exerts a significant impact on a hospital's comprehensive competitiveness and soft power.Party building plays a crucial role in the construction and development of hospital culture.The hospital's people-oriented cultural philosophy is inher-ently consistent with the Party's fundamental purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly;therefore,Party building is of great significance for shaping hospital culture—as the inherent soul and driving force of a hospital—and promoting the sound develop-ment of the hospital.This paper analyzes the problems existing in the guidance of cultural construction by Party building in the 5th Party Branch of the Geriatrics & Gerontology Research Institute of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital,such as misalign-ments in ideological understanding,a shortage of Party affairs cadres,and inadequate excavation of cultural connotations.Draw-ing on the branch's experience and achievements,this paper introduces the specific measures and experiences of Party building guiding hospital cultural construction,including delving deeply into spiritual culture,intensifying efforts in institutional culture,fostering a culture of integrity,expanding service-oriented culture,and nurturing a culture of role models and heroes.Further-more,it puts forward valuable experiences:taking institutional development as the foundation to solidify the core mechanism of political guidance;taking innovative practices as the means to construct a multi-dimensional integrated promotion system;and a-dopting a problem-oriented approach as the pathway to drive the transformation and upgrading of practical outcomes.
2.Application of annual progressive assessment mode in standardized training for residents in a medical laboratory base

Objective:To explore the establishment, implementation, and application effect of the annual progressive assessment mode for standardized training of resident physicians in a medical laboratory base.Methods:Since 2020, the base has improved the annual progressive assessment system through assessment system establishment, question bank construction, routine assessment, rotation examination, and annual examination. This new assessment mode was adopted for the residency trainees enrolled in the base after 2020. The control group consisted of seven residency trainees enrolled before 2020, while the experimental group comprised 13 trainees enrolled in 2020 and later. The two groups were compared based on the rotation and annual examination scores of second- and third-year trainees, as well as their academic achievements. Additionally, teaching outcomes of the base before and after 2020 were analyzed. The t test, rank-sum test, and Fisher's exact test were performed using SPSS 27.00. Results:There were no significant differences in age, sex, and education level between the two groups. The experimental group showed significantly higher scores than the control group in theory assessment ( P<0.001 for second-year trainees and P=0.008 for third-year trainees) and skill assessment ( P<0.001 for second-year trainees and P=0.038 for third-year trainees) in rotation examination, as well as in theory assessment (both P<0.001) and skill assessment (both P<0.001) in annual examination. The improvement was particularly pronounced among second-year trainees. The trainees of the experimental group submitted 17 case reports in three years, and won awards at national conferences, provincial conferences, and institutional case speech competitions. In a national academic conference, the trainees won the second prize of "Excellent Case". Since 2020, we have been granted with our first teaching reform project and published our first teaching article. To date, we have obtained five teaching reform projects, published six teaching articles, and won multiple awards in provincial and institutional teaching competitions. Conclusions:The establishment of the annual progressive assessment mode is critical for training high-quality laboratory physicians, and puts forward higher requirements for residency training teachers.
3.The effect of vanadyl bis(acetylacetonato)on the proliferation and invasion of human adrenocortical carci-noma cells

Objective To investigate the effects of bis(acetylacetonato)oxovanadium(IV)[VO(acac)?]on human adrenocortical carcinoma cell lines SW-13 and NCI-H295R in vitro,aiming to determine whether VO(acac)?promotes or inhibits the proliferation,migration,and invasion of these cells.Methods SW-13 and NCI-H295R cells in logarithmic growth phase were exposed to VO(acac)? at concentrations of 6.25,12.5,25,50,75,100,and 200 μmol/L for 24 and 48 hours,respectively.Mitotane served as the positive control.Cell viability was assessed using the CCK-8 assay to evaluate the effects of VO(acac)? on SW-13 and NCI-H295R cells.Subsequently,cells were treated with VO(acac)? at concentrations of 0,6.25,12.5,and 25 μmol/L for 48 hours,and flow cytometry was employed to investigate the impact of VO(acac)? on apoptosis.The migratory ability of the cells was evaluated using a wound healing assay,while their invasive capacity was assessed via a Transwell assay.Additionally,the clonogenic assay was used to determine the proliferative potential of SW-13 and NCI-H295R cells following VO(acac)?treatment.Results The CCK-8 results demonstrated that VO(acac)2 inhibited the viability of SW-13 and NCI-H295R cells in a time-and concentration-dependent manner.Specifically,the half-maximal inhibitory concentra-tions(IC50)for VO(acac)2 against SW-13 cells were 62.98±6.67 μmol/L after 24 hours and(14.61±1.66)μmol/L after 48 hours of treatment,while the corresponding IC50 values for NCI-H295R cells were 46.78±7.89 μmol/L and 12.61±2.98 μmol/L,respectively.Flow cytometry analysis revealed that VO(acac)2 induced apoptosis in both SW-13 and NCI-H295R cells in a concentration-dependent manner(P<0.05).The wound healing assay indicated a significant reduction in the migratory rate of SW-13 and NCI-H295R cells with increasing concentrations of VO(acac)2(P<0.05).Transwell assay results showed that VO(acac)2 significantly inhibited the invasive ability of SW-13 and NCI-H295R cells in a concentration-dependent fashion.Finally,the clonogenic assay confirmed that VO(acac)2 suppressed the proliferative capacity of SW-13 and NCI-H295R cells in a concentration-dependent manner.Conclusion VO(acac)2 inhibits the proliferation,migration,and invasion of human adrenocortical carcinoma cells(SW-13 and NCI-H295R),while inducing apoptosis in these cell lines.

5.Development and psychometric testing of the Advance Care Planning Decision Balance Scale for Family Members of Patients with Advanced Cancer

Objective:To develop a culturally adapted Advance Care Planning (ACP) Decision Balance Scale for Family Members of Patients with Advanced Cancer in China, and to test its reliability and validity.Methods:Based on the transtheoretical model-decisional balance framework, the item pool was established through literature analysis, qualitative interviews, and research team discussions. After expert panel meetings and semantic debugging pre-surveys among family members of patients with advanced cancer, item screening was conducted to form the pilot scale. From October to December 2024, the scale was administered to 310 family members of inpatients with advanced cancer in five Class Ⅲ Grade A hospitals in Chongqing. SPSS and AMOS software were used for item analysis and reliability and validity testing, and the final formal scale was developed.Results:The ACP Decision Balance Scale for Family Members of Patients with Advanced Cancer consisted of 2 dimensions, perceived cost of choice and perceived benefit of choice, with a total of 12 items. The Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was 0.875, the split-half reliability was 0.905, and the test-retest reliability was 0.856. The item-level content validity index ranged from 0.880 to 1.000, and the scale-level content validity index was 0.980. Exploratory factor analysis extracted 2 common factors, with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 65.365%. Confirmatory factor analysis showed χ 2/ df=1.743, and the model fit indices met the requirements. The scale also demonstrated good convergent validity and discriminant validity. Conclusions:The ACP Decision Balance Scale for Family Members of Patients with Advanced Cancer developed in this study demonstrated good reliability and validity. It can be used as a tool to assess the level of ACP decision-making participation of family members of patients with advanced cancer, and to systematically, comprehensively, and effectively evaluate, collect, and analyze their behavioral intentions and barriers regarding ACP decision-making.
6.Protective Effect against Helicobacter pylor Gastritis in Mice by Flavonoid Combinations of Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma via Inhibition of PI3K/Akt Pathway

ObjectiveTo investigate the protective effect and mechanism of action of flavonoid combination of Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma (A. officinarum) against Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) gastritis in mice. MethodsAfter acclimatization for one week, 56 SPF-grade healthy C57BL/6J mice were gavaged with mixed antibiotics for three consecutive days. They were randomly divided into a normal group, model group, positive drug group (triple therapy group), and low- and high-dose groups (100, 200 mg·kg-1) of flavonoid combination of A. officinarum. The H. pylori gastritis mice model was established by gavage with H. pylori bacterial suspension in each group except for the normal group. After successful modeling, mice were administrated with corresponding drugs once a day for two weeks. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was used to observe the pathological changes in gastric tissue. Rapid urease test paper was used to detect the positive rate of H. pylori. Silver staining was used to observe the H. pylori adherence on the surface of gastric tissue. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the protein expression of interleukin-8 (IL)-8 and myeloid differentiation factor (MyD88) in gastric tissue. The serum levels of IL-6, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), IL-8, and IL-1β were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The expressions of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B (PI3K/Akt) protein were detected by Western blot. ResultsCompared with those in the normal group, mice in the model group had lower gastric weight coefficients, higher pH of gastric juice, 100% H. pylori infection rate, and significantly changed gastric histopathology. The expressions of IL-8 and MyD88 proteins in the gastric tissue of mice in the model group were significantly elevated, and the serum levels of inflammatory factors IL-6, TNF-α, IL-8, and IL-1β were significantly up-regulated in mice. Compared with that in the model group, the gastric weight coefficient of mice in each treatment group of the flavonoid combinations of A. officinarum was elevated (P<0.01), and the pH of gastric juice was reduced (P<0.01). The infection rate of H. pylori was reduced. The expressions of IL-8 and MyD88 proteins in the gastric tissue of mice in the treatment groups were significantly reduced (P<0.01), and the serum levels of inflammatory factors IL-6, TNF-α, IL-8, and IL-1β were significantly reduced in a dose-dependent manner (P<0.01). The flavonoid combinations of A. officinarum down-regulated the expression of PI3K and Akt proteins in H. pylori gastritis-infected cells (P<0.01). ConclusionThe protective effect of flavonoid combinations of A. officinarum against H. pylori gastritis is associated with the inhibition of H. pylori infection rate and regulation of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, resulting in inhibiting the release of inflammatory factors.
7.Analysis of depressive symptoms and associated factors among primary and secondary school students in the in depth monitoring counties Rural Nutrition Improvement Program

Objective:
To understand the prevalence and related factors of depressive symptoms among primary and secondary school students in the in depth monitoring counties of China s Rural Compulsory Education Nutrition Improvement Program, so as to provide a basis for prevention and psychological intervention of depressive symptoms among children and adolescents in rural areas.
Methods:
In November 2022, a stratified random sampling method was adopted to collect height and weight data, basic personal and family information of 7 949 primary and secondary school students from grade three to grade nine through physical measurements and questionnaires in 56 key monitoring schools implementing the Student Nutrition Improvement Program in 7 in depth monitoring counties (Jalaid Banner in Inner Mongolia, Jinzhai County in Anhui, Mao Xian in Sichuan, Tiandeng County in Guangxi, Mian County in Shaanxi, Zhaozhou County in Heilongjiang and Youxi County in Fujian), and to obtain the information related to their depressive symptoms through the self assessment questionnaire on depression. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was conducted to analyze the prevalence of depressive symptoms among primary and secondary school students, as well as their related factors.
Results:
The detection rate of depressive symptoms among primary and secondary school students in the in depth monitored counties was 23.5%. Logistic regression analysis showed that the probability of detecting depressive symptoms was higher among female students, middle school students, students whose video screen duration per day was >2 h, and students whose parents marital status was divorced or widowed ( OR =1.40, 1.64, 1.60, 1.24), and students whose sleep duration reached the recommended standard, whose parents usually accompanied them daily for time was 60-<120 min and ≥120 min, and students whose mothers literacy level was middle school graduation had lower probability of detecting depressive symptoms ( OR =0.85, 0.84, 0.71, 0.76) ( P < 0.05 ).
Conclusion
The detection rate of depressive symptoms among students in the in depth monitoring area is high, and targeted interventions need to be developed for students to reduce the risk of mental health problems.
8.Analysis of major food consumption frequencies among children aged 6-17 years in China

Objective:
To analyze the consumption frequency of major foods among Chinese children aged 6-17 years old, and to provide a basis for optimizing the dietary structure of children in China.
Methods:
Using data from the China Nutrition and Health System Survey and Application Program for Children 0-18 years old, 56 734 children aged 6-17 years old from North, Norththeast East, Central, South, Southwest and Northwest seven regions in China were selected for the study using stratified cluster random sampling from 2019 to 2021. A food frequency questionnaire was used to investigate the intake frequency of eight food groups in a month, including fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, livestock and poultry meats, aquatic products, eggs, dairy products, legumes, and cereals and potatoes. The foods were grouped according to whether they met the recommended intake criteria outlined in the Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents 2022. The〖KG*2〗χ2 test was used to compare the differences in the proportion of childrens intake frequency of each food group meeting the standard in different regions and age groups.
Results:
The proportions of Chinese children aged 6-17 years who consumed fresh vegetables and cereals and potatoes ≥3 times/d were 12.1% and 67.2%, respectively. The proportions of children who consumed fresh fruits, livestock and poultry meats, eggs and dairy products ≥1 time/d were 50.8%, 58.8%, 36.0% and 54.3%, respectively. The proportion of legumes consumed ≥4 times/week was 37.4%, and the proportion of aquatic products consumed ≥2 times/week was 39.7%. Fresh vegetables (5.5%), fresh fruits (33.1%), and dairy products (36.4%) had the lowest frequency of meeting the recommended standards in South China, and aquatic products (27.4%) and eggs (21.1%) had the lowest frequency of meeting the recommended standards in Northwest (P<0.008 3).
Conclusion
The overall intake frequency of fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, legumes, and dairy products are insufficient among Chinese children, with significant regional variations.
9.Association of dining locations with nutritional status among Chinese children aged 6-17 years

Objective:
To analyze the association of eating dining locations and their association with nutritional status among Chinese children aged 6-17 years,so as to provide reference for guiding children s reasonable diet.
Methods:
Stratified random cluster sampling was used to select children aged 6 to 17 years from 28 cities and rural areas of 14 provinces in East, North, Central, South, Southwest, Northwest, Northeast of China, and a total of 52 535 children were included in the study from 2019 to 2021. Information including dining locations, demographic characteristics, dietary intakes and physical activity were collected through a questionnaire survey. Fasting body height and weight were measured in the morning. Unordered multiclass Logistic regression analysis was conducted to assess the relationship between dining locations and nutritional status in children.
Results:
Regarding children s dining locations, 66.3% ate breakfast at home,25.8% ate breakfast at school,7.9% ate breakfast outside (small dining tables, restaurants, stalls, etc.); 67.7% ate dinner at home,29.0% ate dinner at school,3.3% ate dinner outside; and 63.6% ate lunch at school,30.8% ate lunch at home,5.7% ate lunch outside. The prevalence rates of overweight/obesity and undernutrition were 28.6% and 9.3%, respectively. The adjusted multiclass Logistic regression analysis (controlling for age, region, parental education, household income, total energy intake, and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity) demonstrated that, compared to eating at home, school based breakfast and dinner consumption was associated with significantly lower overweight/obesity risks for both genders (boys: breakfast OR =0.70, 95% CI =0.65-0.75; dinner OR =0.80, 95% CI = 0.74- 0.86; girls: breakfast OR = 0.89 , 95% CI = 0.82-0.96; dinner OR =0.88, 95% CI =0.81-0.95), whereas eating lunch away from home significantly increased overweight/obesity risks (boys: OR =1.32, 95% CI =1.17-1.48; girls: OR =1.43, 95% CI =1.26- 1.62 ), with all associations being statistically significant ( P <0.05). After adjusting for confounding factors, boys who ate breakfast away from home showed a significantly reduced risk of undernutrition ( OR =0.80,95% CI =0.66-0.97), while those consuming lunch away from home had an increased risk ( OR =1.26, 95% CI =1.01-1.57) ( P <0.05).
Conclusions
The choice of dining locations for children is becoming more diverse, and a relatively high proportion of children eat meals outside the home and at school. Eating out have a higher risk of malnutrition for children. School feeding may be beneficial to children s physical health.
10.Complications among patients undergoing orthopedic surgery after infection with the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron strain and a preliminary nomogram for predicting patient outcomes.

PURPOSE:
The rate of complications among patients undergoing surgery has increased due to infection with SARS-CoV-2 and other variants of concern. However, Omicron has shown decreased pathogenicity, raising questions about the risk of postoperative complications among patients who are infected with this variant. This study aimed to investigate complications and related factors among patients with recent Omicron infection prior to undergoing orthopedic surgery.
METHODS:
A historical control study was conducted. Data were collected from all patients who underwent surgery during 2 distinct periods: (1) between Dec 12, 2022 and Jan 31, 2023 (COVID-19 positive group), (2) between Dec 12, 2021 and Jan 31, 2022 (COVID-19 negative control group). The patients were at least 18 years old. Patients who received conservative treatment after admission or had high-risk diseases or special circumstances (use of anticoagulants before surgery) were excluded from the study. The study outcomes were the total complication rate and related factors. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to identify related factors, and odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated to assess the impact of COVID-19 infection on complications.
RESULTS:
In the analysis, a total of 847 patients who underwent surgery were included, with 275 of these patients testing positive for COVID-19 and 572 testing negative. The COVID-19-positive group had a significantly higher rate of total complications (11.27%) than the control group (4.90%, p < 0.001). After adjusting for relevant factors, the OR was 3.08 (95% CI: 1.45-6.53). Patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 at 3-4 weeks (OR = 0.20 (95% CI: 0.06-0.59), p = 0.005), 5-6 weeks (OR = 0.16 (95% CI: 0.04-0.59), p = 0.010), or ≥7 weeks (OR = 0.26 (95% CI: 0.06-1.02), p = 0.069) prior to surgery had a lower risk of complications than those who were diagnosed at 0-2 weeks prior to surgery. Seven factors (age, indications for surgery, time of operation, time of COVID-19 diagnosis prior to surgery, C-reactive protein levels, alanine transaminase levels, and aspartate aminotransferase levels) were found to be associated with complications; thus, these factors were used to create a nomogram.
CONCLUSION
Omicron continues to be a significant factor in the incidence of postoperative complications among patients undergoing orthopedic surgery. By identifying the factors associated with these complications, we can determine the optimal surgical timing, provide more accurate prognostic information, and offer appropriate consultation for orthopedic surgery patients who have been infected with Omicron.
