Journal of Public Health and Preventive Medicine 2024;35(4):28-31
Objective To evaluate the impact of the eastern healthy diet pattern (EHDP) on body weight, blood pressure, blood lipids, and glucose in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2MD) patients and compare it with the effect of traditional diabetes diet (TDD). Methods A total of 140 inpatients with T2DM admitted to Chenzhou First People's Hospital from May 2022 to December 2022 were selected and randomly assigned to EHDP (n = 70) group or TDD group (n = 70). Both groups were served with three meals a day by the dietitian department of the hospital for 8 weeks. The TDD group followed the guidelines of the Chinese diabetes society, while the EHDP group optimized diversified food intake and increased aquatic products, olive oil, and dairy products. Results There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups of patients in baseline data including age, gender, blood pressure, blood glucose, and hypoglycemic and lipid-lowering treatment between the two groups (P value 0.238~0.795). After 8 weeks of dietary intervention, compared with before the intervention, the body weight, fasting blood glucose, 2-hour postprandial blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, blood lipids and blood pressure of both groups showed statistically significant decreases (P<0.05). The reductions in weight, BMI, blood lipids, blood pressure and fasting blood glucose in the EHDP group were greater than those in the TDD group (P<0.05). Conclusion EHDP is better than the traditional diabetic diet in reducing blood glucose, weight, blood pressure, and blood lipids compared to traditional diets. Both diet patterns effectively improve 2h PG and HbA1c with no significant difference.

Journal of Gynecologic Oncology 2024;35(6):e79-
Objective:
Signaling lymphocytic activation molecule family members (SLAMFs) play a critical role in immune regulation of malignancies. This study aims to investigate the prognostic value and function of SLAMFs in ovarian cancer (OC).
Methods:
The expression analysis of SLAMFs was conducted based on The Cancer Genome Atlas Ovarian Cancer Collection (TCGA-OV) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was further performed on tissue arrays (n=98) to determine the expression of SLAMF7. Kaplan-Meier plotter and multivariate Cox regression model were used to evaluate the correlation of SLAMF7 expression with survival outcomes of patients. The molecular function of SLAMF7 in OC was further investigated using Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA).
Results:
SLAMF7 mRNA expression were significantly upregulated in OC tumor tissue compared to normal tissue. IHC revealed that SLAMF7 expression was located in the interstitial parts of tumor tissue, and higher SLAMF7 expression was associated with favorable survival outcomes. GSEA demonstrated that SLAMF7 is involved immune-related pathways. Further analysis showed that SLAMF7 had a strong correlation with the T cellspecific biomarker (CD3) but not with the B cell (CD19, CD22, and CD23) and natural killer cell-specific biomarkers (CD85C, CD336, and CD337). Furthermore, IHC analysis confirmed that SLAMF7 was expressed in tumor-infiltrating T cells, and the IHC score of SLAMF7 was positively correlated with CD3 (r=0.85, p<0.001).
Conclusion
SLAMF7 is expressed in the interstitial components of clinical OC tissue, and higher SLAMF7 expression indicated a favorable prognosis for patients with OC.Additionally, SLAMF7 is involved in T-cell immune infiltration in OC.

Objective:The repair of small and medium-sized defects in the oral has always been a challenge, free skin flap and distal pedicled tissue flaps are difficult to meet clinical needs, and the traditional under-chin flap has the risk of donor-area injury. This study aims to investigate the efficacy of V-shaped folded submental flap in the repair of small-sized and medium-sized oral defects. Methods:The clinical data of 28 patients with oral defect lesions, who were hospitalized in the Department of Stomatology,Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from March 2019 to December 2022,were retrospectively analyzed.Patients were divided into a V-shaped folded group(17 cases)and a conventional group(11 cases)according to different surgical methods. The V-shaped folded group was treated with a V-shaped folded submental flap for postoperative soft tissue repair, while the conventional group was treated with a conventional submental flap for repair. The postoperative follow-up time was 6-48 months. The survival status, repair time, and repair effect of the 2 groups were compared. Results:There was no significant difference in flap survival rate, flap size, flap preparation time, repair surgery time, and postoperative hospital stay between the 2 groups(all P>0.05).At 6 months after the surgery, the V-shaped folded group had no difficulty in raising the head or everting the lower lip,no"cat ear"deformity in the submental skin.Scars in the V-shaped folding group were hidden at the lower edge of the mandible. The wound aesthetics and functional scores in the V-shaped folded group were significantly higher than those in the conventional group(both P<0.05). Conclusion:The V-shaped foldable submental flap has the advantages of flexible design, simple preparation, reliable blood supply, and protection of the donor area, which can effectively protect the appearance of the chin and avoid functional disorders.
