Objective:To investigate the comorbidity rate of chronic diseases and prevalence of depressive symptoms among the middle-aged and elderly population, and explore the association between comorbidity with-chronic disease and depressive symptoms in middle-aged and older people. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted in Shandong Province.A total of 9 535 middle-aged and older people aged 45 years and over were recrui-ted.General information questionnaire, the chronic disease information questionnaire and Patient Health Question-naire were used for face-to-face interview to screen symptoms and collect information.Univariate analysis and mult-ivariate logistic regression analysis were employed to explore the association between comorbidity with chronic dis-ease and depressive symptoms. Results:The prevalence of depressive symptoms among middle-aged and older peo-ple was 8.7%,while among those with comorbid chronic diseases, the prevalence of depressive symptoms was 29.6%.Respectively,demonstrating an increasing trend with the number of chronic diseases(P<0.001).Multiva-riate analysis revealed that comorbid chronic disease(OR=1.47,95%CI:1.22-1.78)were risk factors of depres-sive symptoms.Conclusion:Middle-aged and older people with multiple chronic conditions are more likely to be di-agnosed with depressive symptoms, and the detection rate of these symptoms increases with the number of comorbid chronic conditions. Therefore,it is recommended to strengthen mental health interventions for those with multiple chronic conditions.

Objective To explore the effect of application of task-based learning with experiential teaching on nursing clinical decision making ability. Methods A total of 96 nursing students were divided into experimental group and observation group with each of 48 nursing students. The experimental group used the application of task-based learning with experimental teaching, the control group used the traditional scenario simulation. At the end of the course, the final scores, skill operation scores and nursing students'evaluation of the course and clinical decision-making ability of nursing were observed in the two groups. Results The final scores, chapters related to task-based learning with experiential teaching, skill operation scores was (82.06±0.98), (12.01±0.88), (94.99±0.34) points in the experimental group, and (78.34±0.98), (9.32±0.76), (91.87±0.98) points in the control group, and the difference was significant(t=12.958, 9.872, 10.834, all P<0.01). Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2016;33(1):42-48
Wearable devices bring us an innovative human-computer interaction which plays an irreplaceable role in enhancing the users' ability in environmental awareness, acquirements of their own state and "ubiquitous" computing power. Since 2013, wearable devices have quickly appeared around us. In this article we classify most of the wearable devices which have been appeared in the markets or reported in the literature according to their functions and the positions where they are worn. Furthermore, we review the technologies related to wearable devices, such as sensing technology, wireless communication, power manager, display technology and big data. At last, we analyze the challenges which the wearable devices will face in near future, and look forward to development trends of wearable devices.

Aim To investigate the effect of asiatic acid on apoptosis and autophagy in human glioblastoma T98G cells. Methods MTT colorimetry was employed to assay the cellular proliferating activity. The fluores-cence microscope and Hoechst 33258 staining were used to detect the morphological changes. The cell ap-optosis and autophagy were analyzed by flow cytometry with Annexin-V/7-AAD and MDC staining respective-ly. The expressions of associated proteins were detected by Western blot to analyze the mechanism of apoptosis and autophagy. Results MTT assay showed that the growth of T 9 8 G cells was inhibited by asiatic acid ( IC50 =46. 3 μmol · L-1 ) . Annexin V/7-AAD stai-ning and Western blot revealed that asiatic acid in-duced apoptosis in T98 G cells by reducing the expres-sion of Akt, decreasing the mitochondrial membrane potential, and increasing the expression of Caspase-3. MDC staining and Western blot showed that the per-centage of MDC-positive cells was decreased and the expressions of Beclin-1 , LC3-II and Atgs were inhibi-ted by asiatic acid treatment. 5 μmol·L-1 chloroquine was used to up-regulate the expressions of LC3-Ⅱand Beclin-1 . Asiatic acid-inhibited autophagy was blocked and the total apoptotic rate was reduced remarkably. Conclusion Asiatic acid suppresses T98 G cells pro-liferation by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting cell au-tophagy, and the very role of inhibiting autophagy could promote apoptosis to a certain extent.
10.Effects of thyroxine on serum lipid and bone metabolism in elderly patients with subclinical hypothyroidism
Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2003;0(07):-
Objective To investigate the effects of L-thyroxine(LT4) on serum lipid and bone metabolism in aged patients with subclinical hypothyroidism (SH). Methods Seventy-eight patients with diagnosed SH were randomly assigned to receive LT4 (therapy group) or placebo(control group) for one year. Mean dose for LT4 replacement was (80.1?37.2) ?g/d. The changes of clinical symptoms, body mass index (BMI) and serum levels of total cholesterol(TC), triglycerides(TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), apolipoprotein A 1(ApoA 1), apolipoprotein B 100 (ApoB 100 ), calcium ion(Ca 2+ ), phosphorus ion (P 3+ ) and alkaline phosphatase (AKP) and bone mineral density (BMD) were measured before and after therapy. Results After LT4 therapy, clinical symptoms were ameliorated. BMI and serum TC, TG, LDL-C and ApoB 100 levels were significantly reduced 〔(24.6?3.1 vs 23.3?2.2),(5.65?1.42 vs 4.43?0.81),(1.81?0.66 vs 1.43?0.40),(3.64?0.84 vs 2.68?0.63)mmol/L,(0.98?0.22 vs 0.83?0.21)g/L,P
