Abstract The etiology and pathogenesis of myopia among children and adolescents remain unclear. As crucial regulatory mediators in the body, inflammatory cytokines have drawn increasing attention for their potential role in the onset and progression of myopia. The study examines the relationship between systemic inflammation and intraocular inflammation and myopia, explores the inflammatory mechanisms underlying myopia development, and discusses intervention strategies targeting related signaling pathways for myopia treatment. It aims to provide new insights for the prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents.

Abstract In recent years, the prevalence of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents has risen rapidly, posing a serious threat to their physical and mental health. To provide scientific, systematic, and standardized weight management guidance for overweight and obese children and adolescents, the study focuses on the core concept of healthy lifestyle intervention, integrates multidisciplinary expert opinions and research findings,and proposes a comprehensive multidisciplinary intervention framework covering scientific exercise intervention, precise nutrition and diet, optimized sleep management, and standardized psychological support. It calls for the establishment of a multi agent collaborative management mechanism led by the government, implemented by families, fostered by schools, initiated by individuals, optimized by communities, reinforced by healthcare, and coordinated by multiple stakeholders. Emphasizing a child and adolescent centered approach, the consensus advocates for comprehensive, multi level, and personalized guidance strategies to promote the internalization and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle. It serves as a reference and provides recommendations for the effective prevention and control of overweight and obesity, and enhancing the health level of children and adolescents.

This article summarizes the unique viewpoints and experience application of the famous and veteran Chinese medicine practitioner,Professor Wang Xinzhi,in treating emotional diseases from the perspective of gallbladder theory.Based on the physiologi-cal functions and characteristics of the gallbladder in Chinese medicine,it is proposed that the"heart mind-gallbladder-viscera"axis dominates the generation and changes of emotions,and it is believed that gallbladder failure is the key pathogenesis of emotional disor-ders.The treatment of clinical syndromes should be based on the type of gallbladder,and emotional diseases can be divided into types of insufficient gallbladder qi,unfavorable Shaoyang,gallbladder and heat excess,timidity-deficiency,and heart-gallbladder indeci-sion,according to clinical manifestations;based on the basic principle of adjusting the functions of the heart,spleen,liver,gallblad-der,kidney and other organs,treatment methods such as tonifying the spleen and kidneys,increasing gallbladder qi,resolving Shaoy-ang,clearing gallbladder heat,warming yang and replenishing qi,calming the mind,resolving phlegm and removing blood stasis should be used,highlighting the joint treatment of the heart and the gallbladder,and the simultaneous regulation of the liver and gall-bladder,so that the mind can be at ease,the gallbladder can be decisive,and the emotions can be harmonious.

Chaihu Guizhi Decoction is an excellent prescription of ZHANG Zhongjing;however,nowadays the application of Chaihu Guizhi Decoction is primarily derived from the text.The xiang thinking is the source of traditional Chinese medicine thinking.Understanding Chaihu Guizhi Decoction from the xiang thinking,it is easy to perceive the true meaning of ZHANG Zhongjing,and grasp the location of the disease and the patient's overall qi,so as to make better use of this formula.This article discusses the understanding of Chaihu Guizhi Decoction from five perspectives:firstly,it gives an overview of the xiang thinking,pointing out the source and essential value of the xiang thinking;secondly,it analyses the disease position and the patient's qi of Chaihu Guizhi Decoction under the perspective of the xiang thinking as a whole;thirdly,it discusses the disease position and the patient's qi of the original text of Chaihu Guizhi Decoction from the xiang thinking;fourthly,it discusses how to understand the principle of formula formation and the main and minor parts of Chaihu Guizhi Decoction by xiang thinking;finally,it analyses the primary medicines in Chaihu Guizhi Decoction by using xiang thinking based on the records of Shennong Bencao Jing.Based on these five points,we hope to reveal the traditional Chinese medicine thinking behind Chaihu Guizhi Decoction,and provide new ideas for the clinical application of Chaihu Guizhi Decoction.

Objective: To explore the association between bedroom light at night (LAN) exposure and body mass index (BMI) in children at 1 year follow up, so as to provide new strategies for obesity prevention. Methods: From December 2021 to May 2022, cluster random sampling was conducted, involving 648 children from two primary schools in Tianchang, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, China, to assess bedroom LAN exposure of children during sleep. A questionnaire survey and physical examination were carried out in May 2022. Multivariate linear regression was performed to analyze the correlation between bedroom LAN exposure and BMI variable quantity at 1 year follow up (May, 2023). Results: The median intensity of bedroom LAN exposure during the sleep episode was [1.11(0.35,3.24)lx] in children. The proportion of the sample exposed to an average light intensity of ≥3 lx was 27.5%, while 19.0% was exposed to a LAN intensity of ≥5 lx during the sleep episode. In the multivariable linear regression, after adjusting for covariates, including sex, baseline age, sleep duration, family monthly income, and maternal education level, exposure to a 1 h-average post bedtime LAN intensity of ≥3 lx ( β=0.25, 95%CI =0.05-0.44) and LAN≥5 lx ( β=0.34, 95% CI = 0.12-0.55) was associated with a gain of 0.25 and 0.34 kg/m 2, respectively, in the children s BMI at the 1 year follow up ( P < 0.05). Conclusions A positive correlation was found between bedroom LAN exposure and BMI variable quantity at 1 year follow up in children. Thus, reduced bedroom LAN exposure might be useful for interventions aimed at obesity prevention.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to develop the beverage addiction scale for college students,so as to provide an effective tool for assessing college students beverage addiction. Methods: In November 2022, a cluster sample of 8 792 college students from three colleges in Yunnan and Jiangxi were surveyed by Beverage Addication Scale for College Students. After a through literature review, 12 items were proposed, including withdrawal symptoms, health effects and addiction symptoms, with 4 items each. The ttest and correlation analysis were used to filter the items, and exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used to evaluate the structural validity of the questionnaire. In May 2023, 5 279 college students from the above three universities were surveyed again to evaluate the reliability and validity of the scale and the positive demarcation value of symptoms. Results: The scale fitted into a tool for measuring symptoms of beverage dependence in a college student population. The scale was composed of 11 items in accordance with withdrawal symptoms, health effects and addiction symptoms, with a cumulative contribution rate of variance was 74.51%. Cronbach α coefficients for the overall scale and three dimensions were 0.94, 0.88, 0.90 and 0.92, respectively. The correlation coefficient between each item and the total score ranged from 0.56 to 0.79, and the correlation coefficient with the dimension ranged from 0.71 to 0.92. The confirmatory factor analysis model was well fitted, and the RMSEA, CFI, TLI and SRMR value were 0.06, 0.95, 0.93 and 0.04, respectively. The application of the scale showed that scores on the scale and each dimension ≥P85 were positive for symptoms. Conclusion The reliability and validity of Beverage Addiction Scale for College Students is good, which can be used to evaluate the beverage addiction symptom of college students.

Alzheimer's disease （AD） is a chronic neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the progressive loss of cognitive and memory functions. Its pathological features mainly include neurofibrillary tangles formed by the aggregation of hyperphosphorylated tau proteins and amyloid plaques formed by the accumulation of β-amyloid. The exact pathogenesis of AD has not been fully elucidated， and there are currently no effective specific drugs or radical treatments available in clinical practice. In recent years， the incidence of AD has been on the rise， severely affecting life and health， making the search for effective drugs and therapeutic components for AD treatment crucial. Modern medical research has found that the brain-derived neurotrophic factor （BDNF）/tropomyosin receptor kinase B （TrkB） signaling pathway is closely related to neurogenesis， apoptosis， neuroinflammation， synaptic plasticity， and oxidative stress， playing a vital role in the pathophysiological development of AD. Additionally， Chinese medicine has a long history of treating neurodegenerative diseases with few adverse reactions and features a multi-target， multi-link， and multi-pathway approach to treatment. Therefore， the author reviewed the latest research reports in China and abroad to elaborate on the role of the BDNF/TrkB signaling pathway in the onset and progression of AD， and summarized the research progress on the regulation of the BDNF/TrkB pathway by Chinese medicine compounds and monomers in AD intervention. This study is expected to provide references for the development of clinical drugs for the prevention and treatment of AD and to broaden the perspective on Chinese medicine treatment of AD.

Objective: To analyze the effects of outdoor activities, sedentary behaviors and sleep duration on the risk of poor vision among primary and secondary school students after replacing them with each other, so as to provide a reference for precise intervention in the prevention and control of myopia among children and adolescents. Methods: From March to May 2023, a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 6 132 students in grades 4 to 12 in Hefei, Wuhu, Suzhou and Chizhou cities in Anhui Province. A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect the basic information, outdoor activities, sedentary behavior, and sleep duration, and a visual inspection was carried out by 5 m standard logarithmic visual acuity chart. The single activity model, segmentation model and isotemporal substitution model were used to analyze the relationship between outdoor activities, sedentary behaviors, sleep, and poor vision, and stratified analysis was performed by gender. Results: The detection rate of poor vision among the 6 132 primary and secondary school students was 76.9%, and the detection rate of poor vision was higher for girls ( 81.1 %) than for boys (72.6%), and the difference was statistically significant ( χ 2=61.37, P <0.01). The results of the single activity model and segmentation model showed that outdoor activity and sleep duration were correlated with a reduced risk of poor vision in primary and secondary school students ( OR =0.87, 0.88; 0.88, 0.91), while sedentary behavior was correlated with an increased risk of poor vision ( OR =1.05, 1.03) ( P <0.05). The results of the isotemporal substitution model showed that replacing the same amount of sedentary behavior with 1 h/d of outdoor activity was associated with 15% reduction in the risk of poor vision ( OR = 0.85), and replacing the same amount of sedentary behavior with 1 h/d of sleep was associated with a 12% reduction in the risk of poor vision ( OR =0.88) ( P <0.05). The results of the isotemporal substitution model stratified by gender showed that replacing the same amount of sedentary behavior with 1 h/d of outdoor activity and 1 h/d of sleep were associated with 22% and 8% reduction in the risk of poor vision in male students ( OR =0.78, 0.92), and replacing the same amount of sedentary behavior with 1 h/d of sleep was associated with 18% reduction in the risk of poor vision in female students ( OR =0.82) ( P <0.05). Conclusion Replacing sedentary behavior with 1 h/d of outdoor activity for boys and 1 h/d of sleep for girls and boys could reduce the risk of poor vision.

Post-stroke depression is a common complication after a stroke. Based on the theory of ＂deficiency of heart qi leading to sadness＂recorded in Huangdi Neijing, our team proposes that deficiency of heart qi is the basic pathogenesis of post-stroke depression, with sadness being its main manifestation. Therefore, we advocate treating post-stroke depression from the perspective of the heart, and clinically, it can be divided into four stages: heart-liver stage, heart-lung stage, heart-spleen stage, and heart-kidney stage. Treating post-stroke depression with the principle of regulating qi and nourishing the heart, patients in the heart-liver and heart-lung stages are mainly middle-aged and young adults, with a pathological nature of qi stagnation and mild deficiency of heart qi, and therefore, the method of promoting the flow of meridians and regulating qi should be adopted. In contrast, patients in the heart-spleen and heart-kidney stages are mainly middle-aged and elderly, with a pathological nature of qi deficiency and severe deficiency of heart qi, and therefore, nourishment and tonification should be prioritized. In response to the above four stages, our team has achieved good clinical efficacy by administering Xiaoyao Powder, Baihe Dihuang Decoction, Ganmai Dazao Decoction and Jingui Shenqi Pill respectively. This study discusses the approach to treating post-stroke depression from the perspective of a "deficiency of heart qi leading to sadness" by examining three aspects: the theoretical basis of Chinese and Western medicine to treat post-stroke depression from the heart, the basic pathogenesis and staging of post-stroke depression, and the treatment principle of regulating qi and nourishing the heart. The study also briefly analyzes the clinical experience of the medications used for this condition to provide a reference for the treatment of post-stroke depression.

Abstract Unhealthy eating behaviors among adolescents are common, and psychological behavior problems are prominent. The paper examines the status and associations underlying unhealthy eating behaviors and psychological behavior problems in adolescents from border multi ethnic areas, and further discusses the importance of research in border area involving multi ethnic adolescents, and highlights its significance in the context of constructing healthy schools in border areas,so as to provide a basis for promoting effectively healthy school environments in border areas of China.
