OBJECTIVE:To systematically evaluate the correlation between phase angle and sarcopenia and its diagnostic indexes.METHODS:The PubMed,EMbase,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,CNKI,WanFang Data,VIP and SinoMed databases were electronically searched to collect studies on the correlation between phase angle and sarcopenia and its diagnostic indexes from database inception to May 8,2024. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of the included studies. Meta-analysis was then performed using RevMan 5.3 and Stata 14.0 software. RESULTS:A total of 50 eligible articles were included. Meta-analysis results showed that compared with the non-sarcopenic population, the phase angle was significantly reduced in sarcopenic patients[standardized mean difference (SMD)=-0.99,95% confidence interval (CI) (-1.09,-0.90),P<0.00001]. The results of subgroup analysis indicated that the difference of phase angle was more significant in patients with severe sarcopenia and Asian sarcopenia. Moreover, reduction in the phase angle was more obvious in patients with malignant tumors and respiratory diseases with sarcopenia. And skeletal muscle mass index (Pearson's r=0.565,P<0.00001),grip strength (Pearson's r=0.446,P<0.00001),and gait speed (Pearson's r=0.405,P<0.00001) all showed a moderate positive correlation with phase angle. However, appendicular skeletal muscle mass index showed a very weak positive correlation with phase angle (Pearson's r=0.139,P=0.02). CONCLUSION:Phase angle has a significant difference between sarcopenia and non-sarcopenia population, and it is correlated with the diagnostic indexes of sarcopenia to different extents. It suggests that phase angle has some clinical values in the objective diagnosis of sarcopenia. However, the results may be influenced by some factors such as sarcopenia severity and detection instruments of phase angle. Due to the limited quality and quantity of the included studies, more high-quality studies are needed to verify the above conclusion.

Chronic Urticaria(CU)is a common skin disease involving autoimmunity and allergies, which brings a heavy burden to patients and society. The theory of traditional Chinese medicine"the Lung is combined with the Large Intestine, and the symptoms of large intestine can be reflected from the skin"has long shown that there is a close physiological and pathological relationship between the function of the Large Intestine and the skin. With the modern advancement of the"gut-skin axis"theory, the correlation between gut microbiome and CU has gradually become an emerging focus of research.Adjusting the imbalance of gut microbiome would be a new trend in the clinical treatment of CU.Acupuncture has a beneficial effect of regulating the gut microbiome, and the definite curative effect on CU.Therefore, this article summarized the research progress between the gut microbiome and CU in recent years,in order to discuss the feasibility of acupuncture to treat CU by regulating the gut microbiome, and provide a new idea for the mechanism research of acupuncture in the treatment of CU from the perspective of"treating skin from intestine".

With the increasing prominence of population aging, the cognitive decline of the elderly has gradually become a hotspot of clinical research. As a traditional rehabilitation exercise, Tai Chi has been proved to have a positive effect on improving cognitive function and delaying cognitive decline in the elderly. However, the related brain function mechanism is still unclear. In this paper, we collected studies which observed the changes of Tai Chi on brain regions related to cognitive function in the elderly using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electroencephalogram (EEG) and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). We summarized relevant studies from perspective of structural and functional changes in the brain. The results showed that Tai Chi may delay and improve cognitive decline in the elderly by reshaping the structure and function of brain regions related to cognitive function such as memory, attention and execution. The effect of Tai Chi for cognitive function may be associated with positive regulation of cardiovascular function, emotion and meditation level of the elderly. In addition, the improvement of cognitive function further enhances the balance of the elderly. We also found that practice time, frequency and intensity of Tai Chi could be factors influencing the improvement of cognitive function and brain function in the elderly.

Chinese Journal of Nephrology 2022;38(6):520-527
Objectives:To investigate the epidemiological features and associated factors of chronic renal insufficiency (CRI) in Binhai county from Jiangsu province. Methods:This is a cross-sectional study including individuals aged≥18 years old and participating in health examinations of Binhai county from January to December 2018. Medical records were collected to analyze the epidemiology of CRI [estimated glomerular filtration rate <60 ml·min -1·(1.73 m 2) -1]. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the associated influencing factors of CRI. Results:A total of 395 541 individuals residing in Binhai county were enrolled, with 190 258 males (48.1%) and age of (55.34±15.12) years old. The overall crude prevalence of CRI was 2.04% (8 065/395 541, 95% CI 2.00%-2.08%) in this adult population. Furthermore, the age- and gender-standardized overall prevalence of CRI was 1.22% (95% CI 1.18%-1.25%), with a rate of 1.47% (4 676/205 283, 95% CI 1.42%-1.52%) in women and a rate 0.95% (3 389/190 258, 95% CI 0.91%-1.00%) in men. There was a strong positive correlation between the risk of CRI and age (per 10-year increase, OR=2.449, 95% CI 2.402-2.497). Compared with individuals <30 years old, the OR of CRI in individuals aged 60-69, 70-79 and ≥80 years old were 3.827 (95% CI 3.010-4.864), 12.004 (95% CI 9.457-15.239) and 44.636 (95% CI 35.187-56.622) respectively. Females ( OR=1.142, 95% CI 1.083-1.203), increasing systolic blood pressure (per 10 mmHg increase, OR=1.062, 95% CI 1.048-1.076), increasing heart rate (per 10-beat/min increase, OR=1.071, 95% CI 1.044-1.098), elevating triglyceride (per 1.33 mmol/L increase, OR=1.140, 95% CI 1.119-1.162), elevating fasting blood glucose (5.6-6.9 mmol/L/<5.6 mmol/L, OR=1.158, 95% CI 1.086-1.233; ≥7 mmol/L/<5.6 mmol/L, OR=1.387, 95% CI 1.296-1.484) and central obesity ( OR=1.126, 95% CI 1.068-1.187) were independent risk factors for CRI. Conclusions:The age- and gender-adjusted prevalence of CRI in adults in Binhai county is 1.22%. Older age, females, central obesity, and high levels of triglyceride, systolic blood pressure, heart rate and fasting glucose are independent associated factors of CRI.

Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2022;45(11):1046-1049
Objective:To evaluate the clinical value of human papillomavirus (HPV) E6/E7 mRNA testing in cervical cancer screening under 30 years old. Methods:The clinical data of 330 young women (less than 30 years old) with minor abnormalities of thinprep cytologic test (TCT) screening for in Dalian Women′s and Children′s Medical Center (Group) Chunliu Region from January 2020 to June 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 165 patients underwent HPV DNA typing test (DNA group), and 165 patients underwent HPV E6/E7 mRNA typing test (mRNA group). The positive rate of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) Ⅱ and above (CIN Ⅱ +) was compared between two groups, and the positive rates of CIN Ⅱ + in different high risk HPV types. Results:The positive rate of high risk HPV types in mRNA group was significantly lower than that in DNA group: 32.7% (54/165) vs. 47.9% (79/165), and there was statistical difference ( χ2 = 7.87, P<0.05). There was no statistical difference in the incidence of CIN Ⅱ + of patients with positive of high risk HPV types between DNA group and mRNA: 45.6% (36/79) and 59.3% (32/54), P>0.05. There was no statistical difference in the incidence of CIN Ⅱ + of patients with HPV 16, 18 or 45 positive between DNA group and mRNA group: 38.5% (10/26) and 6/10, P>0.05. The incidence of CIN Ⅱ + of patients without HPV 16, 18 or 45 positive in mRNA group was significantly higher than that in DNA group: 60.9% (28/46) vs. 41.3% (26/63), and there was statistical difference ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Without increasing the rate of missed diagnosis, HPV E6/E7 mRNA testing plays an important shunt role in women under 30 years old, and the predicted value of CIN Ⅱ + is higher for patients who are not infected with HPV16/18/45 with HPV E6/E7 mRNA testing.

Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 2021;42(2):296-300
【Objective】 To evaluate the efficacy of Nd: YAG laser therapy adjunct to subgingival scaling and root planning (SRP) for treating severe chronic periodontitis. 【Methods】 We selected patients with severe chronic periodontitis whose teeth were distributed in 4 quadrants of the mouth, with probing depth (PD) of 5-8 mm, attachment loss (AL)≥5 mm and bleeding on probing (BOP). These teeth were randomly divided into three groups: SRP group, SRP+L group (Nd: YAG laser after SRP treatment), and L+SRP group (SRP after Nd: YAG laser treatment). We recorded parameters including BOP, PD and AL of the three groups at baseline and 8 weeks after treatment and made statistical analysis. 【Results】 At 8 weeks after treatment, BOP, PD and AL of the three groups were improved than those in the baseline (P<0.05). BOP positive percentage of SRP+L group and L+SRP group significantly reduced compared with SRP group (P<0.05). PD of SRP+L group significantly decreased compared with SRP group and L+SRP group (P<0.05), for sites with PD=7 mm, SRP+L group was significantly decreased compared with SRP and L+SRP groups (P<0.05). AL of SRP group significantly decreased compared with SRP+L group and L+SRP group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 Severe periodontal treatment with Nd:YAG laser adjunct to SRP is more effective in reducing BOP and PD, and for deeper pockets PD is significantly decreased in SRP+L group, but there is no advantage in the improvement of AL.
