BackgroundPreventing and intervening in adolescent gaming disorder is of significant practical importance. Gaming motivation is strongly linked to gaming addiction and serves a key function in comprehending and addressing addictive gaming behaviors. However, the relationship between components of gaming motivation and symptoms of gaming disorder remains unclear. ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between components of gaming motivation and symptoms of gaming disorder among adolescents, so as to provide references for the prevention and intervention of gaming disorder in this population. MethodsFrom January to February 2024, a cluster sampling method was employed to select 1 414 adolescents from four middle schools in Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality as participants in the study. Online Game Motivation Scale (OGMS) and Gaming Disorder Scale for Adolescents (GADIS-A) were administered. Network analysis methods were utilized to investigate the relationships between components of gaming motivation and symptoms of gaming disorder. ResultsThe network edge weights revealed that achievement motivation was positively correlated with impaired game control ability, continued gaming despite negative consequences and the frequency of symptom occurrence (r=0.115, 0.050, 0.076, P<0.05). Social motivation was negatively correlated with negative consequences (r=-0.054, P<0.05),while immersion motivation was positively correlated with continued gaming despite negative consequences (r=0.032, P<0.05). Achievement motivation exhibited the highest strength centrality (1.157) among the three components of gaming motivation. ConclusionThe connections between components of gaming motivation and symptoms of gaming disorder exhibit distinct patterns, with each motivational component influencing gaming disorder through specific symptom pathway. Among these components, achievement motivation plays the most critical role in the interplay between gaming motivation and symptoms of gaming disorder. Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2023;46(11):1037-1040
Objective:To explore the incidence and risk factors of postoperative cardiovascular events in older orthopedic patients. Methods:The clinical data of 316 older patients undergoing orthopedic surgery from May 2018 to December 2021 in Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University were retrospectively analyzed. The independent risk factors of postoperative cardiovascular events in elderly orthopedic surgery patients were analyzed. Results:Among the 316 elderly orthopedic surgery patients, 10 patients experienced postoperative cardiovascular events (event group), and 306 patients did not experience postoperative cardiovascular events (non-event group). There were no statistical differences in gender composition, age, operation method, American Association of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification, operation time, postoperative hospital stay, nutritional status, weakness degree, ability of daily life (ADL) and the proportions of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) + coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) + old myocardial infarction (OMI), hypertension, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, old cerebral infarction, peripheral artery stenosis between two groups ( P>0.05). The proportion of coronary heart disease in event group was significantly higher than that in non-event group: 6/10 vs. 19.93% (61/306), and there was statistical difference ( P<0.01). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis result showed that coronary heart disease was the independent risk factor of postoperative cardiovascular complications in older orthopedic patients ( OR = 4.63, 95% CI 1.22 to 17.56, P<0.05). Conclusions:Accompanying coronary heart disease can increase the incidence of postoperative cardiovascular events in older orthopedic patients, but cardiovascular events do not prolong the length of hospital stay.

Background:
Co-infections of the porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) and the Haemophilus parasuis (HPS) are severe in Chinese pigs, but the immune response genes against co-infected with 2 pathogens in the lungs have not been reported.
Objectives:
To understand the effect of PRRSV and/or HPS infection on the genes expression associated with lung immune function.
Methods:
The expression of the immune-related genes was analyzed using RNA-sequencing and bioinformatics. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were detected and identified by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), immunohistochemistry (IHC) and western blotting assays.
Results:
All experimental pigs showed clinical symptoms and lung lesions. RNA-seq analysis showed that 922 DEGs in co-challenged pigs were more than in the HPS group (709 DEGs) and the PRRSV group (676 DEGs). Eleven DEGs validated by qRT-PCR were consistent with the RNA sequencing results. Eleven common Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways related to infection and immune were found in single-infected and co-challenged pigs, including autophagy, cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, and antigen processing and presentation, involving different DEGs. A model of immune response to infection with PRRSV and HPS was predicted among the DEGs in the co-challenged pigs. Dual oxidase 1 (DUOX1) and interleukin-21 (IL21) were detected by IHC and western blot and showed significant differences between the co-challenged pigs and the controls.
Conclusions
These findings elucidated the transcriptome changes in the lungs after PRRSV and/or HPS infections, providing ideas for further study to inhibit ROS production and promote pulmonary fibrosis caused by co-challenging with PRRSV and HPS.

Cyanobacteria is one of the promising microbial chassis in synthetic biology, which serves as a typical host for light-driven production. With the gradual depletion of fossil resources and intensification of global warming, the research on cyanobacterial cell factory using CO2 as carbon resource is ushering in a new wave. For a long time, research focus on cyanobacterial cell factory has mainly been the production of energy products, such as liquid fuels and hydrogen. One of the critical bottlenecks occurring in cyanobacterial cell factory is the poor economic performance, which is mainly caused by the inherent inefficiency of cyanobacteria. The problem is particularly prominent for these extremely cost-sensitive energy products. As an indispensable basis for modern industry, polymer monomers belong to the bulk chemicals with high added value. Therefore, increasing attention has been focused on polymer monomers which are superior in overcoming the economic barrier in commercialization of cyanobacterial cell factories. Here, we systematically review the progress on the production of polymer monomers using cyanobacteria, including the strategies for improving production, and the related technologies for the application of this important microbial cell factory. Finally, we summarize several issues in cyanobacterial synthetic biology and proposed future developing trends in this field.
