ObjectiveTo investigate the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases and their influencing factors in community-based schizophrenia patients in Shanghai, and to provide a scientific basis for the early identification and prevention of cardiovascular disease in this population. MethodsBased on the Shanghai community cohort with severe mental disorders in 2022, a total of 3 954 community-based schizophrenia patients were identified and included in this study through a stratified cluster sampling method. Basic information and relevant clinical data (including metabolic index data) were collected through questionnaire survey, physical examination and laboratory testing. Univariate analyses were performed using the chi-square tests, and multivariate logistic regression analyses were employed to identify influencing factors of comorbid cardiovascular diseases. ResultsA total of 3 954 community-based schizophrenia patients were included, of which a total of 1 237 (31.28%) patients had comorbid cardiovascular diseases. Multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that age 60 years old or above (OR=5.524, 95%CI: 3.716‒8.214), smoking behavior (OR=1.328, 95%CI: 1.042‒1.692), overweight (OR=1.900, 95%CI: 1.046‒3.451) or obesity (OR=2.678, 95%CI: 1.439‒4.985), elevated blood pressure (OR=1.546, 95%CI: 1.294‒1.846), abnormal fasting blood glucose (OR=1.552, 95%CI: 1.322‒1.823) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol abnormalities (OR=1.283, 95%CI: 1.025‒1.606) were positively associated with the risk of comorbid cardiovascular diseases in patients with schizophrenia, while educational attainment of college/bachelor’s degree or above (OR=0.640, 95%CI: 0.450‒0.910) and being unmarried (OR=0.552, 95%CI: 0.457‒0.667) were negatively associated with the risk of cardiovascular diseases comorbidity. ConclusionAdvanced age, unhealthy behaviors and lifestyles, as well as abnormalities in blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood lipids, could all increase the risk of comorbid cardiovascular diseases in community schizophrenia patients. It is suggested to strengthen the monitoring and management of these risk factors in this population in the future, so as to achieve early detection, early diagnosis and early intervention of cardiovascular diseases.

Journal of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2025;48(9):1222-1227
The form-qi-spirit life concept is the foundation of the theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Ontologically,it defines the essential life substances that constitute the"human being,"exerting a profound influence on TCM health preservation and clinical practice. This study uses an integrated philological and phenomenological methodology grounded in classical texts such as the Inner Canon of Huangdi and Classic of Questioning. It systematically examines the epistemological basis of these core concepts.Form is apprehended through measurement, palpation, and dissection from the perspective of subject-object separation, and introspective realization from the perspective of subject-object unification.Qi is conceptualized through physicians' observations and abstractions of natural phenomena,as well as a profound examination of physiological and pathological manifestations.Spirit emerges from physicians' awareness and analysis of conscious activities amid the deconstruction of early deity worship.Form,qi,and spirit constitute the organic whole of human life, interconnected and mutually influential. This paper has stage-by-stage clarified the fundamental issue of"how to understand the form-qi-spirit life concept came into being."It contributes to consolidating the philosophical foundation of TCM theory and may provide a reference for related research.

Objective To explore the effects of complement C1q on postsynaptic density protein 95(PSD95)and motor function of rats with cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. Methods Thirty-six clean male SD rats, aged 6-8 weeks, weighing 220-250 g,were randomly divided into three groups:sham group(group S),middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)group(group M),and MCAO+C1q neutralization group(group A),12 rats in each group.Group S only received anatomical separation of common carotid ar-tery without insertion of monofilament, group M established the MCAO model was prepared by insertion of monofilament, and group A received C1q neutralizing antibody 10 μl injected into the lateral ventricle on the first day after establishing MCAO model.Three days after modeling, the adhesion removal experiment was used to record the adhesion stimulus removal time, and the balance beam experiment was used to evaluate the limb motor function of the rats. After the rats were sacrificed, the ELISA method was used to detect the C1q and C3 levels in the hippocampus tissue, the Western blot method was used to detect the C1q subcom-ponent subunit A(C1qa)and PSD95 protein levels in the hippocampus tissue, and the Nissl staining was used to record the number of Nissl bodies. Results Compared with group S,group M exhibited a signifi-cantly longer adhesion removal time, significantly elevated balance beam experiment score, significantly higher levels of C1q,C3,and C1qa in the hippocampus, and significantly lower levels of PSD95 and Nissl's body count in the hippocampus(P<0.05).Compared with group M,group A exhibited significantly shor-ter adhesion removals,a significantly lower balance beam experiment score, significantly lower levels of C1q,C3,and C1qa in the hippocampus, significantly higher PSD95 content, and a significantly higher Nissl's body count in the hippocampus(P<0.05).Conclusion Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats can induce extensive activation of the complement system and aggravate the loss of synaptic protein PSD95 and motor dysfunction in rat hippocampal tissue through complement protein C1q.Neutralizing com-plement therapy can effectively improve cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats.
7.Exploration of the Evolution Process of Channels Theory Based on Medical Materials Excavated from Han Tombs
Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2024;65(22):2281-2286
Through combing and analysing the Silk Texts of Hand-Foot-11-Channels by Moxibustion (《足臂十一脉灸经》) and Yin-Yang-11-Channels by Moxibustion (A and B) (《阴阳十一脉灸经》) unearthed from the Mawangdui Han Tomb, the second part of The Book of Vessels (《脉书》) unearthed from the Zhangjiashan Han Tomb, The Vessels Book-Second Part (《脉书·下经》) in Tianhui medical bamboo slips and the fragmentary text of the Channels (《经脉》) and the painted channel portrait unearthed from the Laoguanshan Han Tomb, and the lacquered wooden human body's model of channels unearthed from the Shuangbaoshan Han Tomb, it is argued that the channels starts from the arm jueyin channel which was missing in the early literature of channels, instead of the the hand jueyin pericardium channel, and then argues progressively. It is proposed that the arm jueyin channel in the early meridian literature may have been purposely omitted, that the three yin and three yang paradigms that prevails nowadays has experienced the interchange of the positions of taiyin and jueyin, and that the correspondences between visceral manifestation and the three yin and three yang are derived from the channels theory, and that the pericardium corresponds to the solid organ of the heart, and that the cognitive model of the channels theory has been briefly analysed, which can provide references to the related research.

【Objective】 To investigate the relationship between serum reproductive hormones and sperm parameters and outcomes of micro-testicular sperm extraction (Micro-TESE). 【Methods】 Clinical data of 1 091 patients treated in our hospital during Jan. and Dec.2021 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the sperm concentration, the patients were divided into non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) group (group A,n=418),normal sperm concentration group (group B,n=615),mild to moderate oligospermia group (group C,n=18),severe oligospermia group (group D,n=18),and obstructive azoospermia group (group E,n=22). In group A,244 cases treated with Micro-TESE were grouped into the sperm-acquired group (Micro-TESE positive group,n=82) and non-sperm-acquired group (Micro-TESE negative group,n=162),and according to the pathological types of testicular tissue, the patients were divided into normal testicular tissue with hypospermatogenesis group (HYPO group,n=129),maturation arrest group (MA group,n=10),and support-only cell syndrome group (SCO group,n=122). Differences in semen parameters and reproductive hormone levels were compared, and relationship between reproductive hormones and sperm parameters and Micro-TESE outcomes was determined with Pearson correlation analysis. 【Results】 In the sperm concentration subgroup, the testicular volume of group A was lower than that of group B and group E (P<0.05); the levels of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in group A were the highest (P<0.05),but the level of testosterone (T) was the lowest (P<0.05); the levels of anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) and serum inhibin B (INHB) in group A were lower than those in group B and group E (P<0.05),the normal sperm morphology rate in group B was higher than that in group A and group E (P<0.05); the percentage of forward moving sperm in group B was the highest (P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis revealed that sperm concentration, normal sperm morphology rate, and percentage of forward moving sperm were negatively correlated with age,FSH,LH (P<0.05),and positively correlated with testicular volume,T,AMH,and INHB (P<0.05). NOA patients were grouped according to testicular histology and pathology. The INHB in the SCO group was the smallest of the three groups (P<0.05); the FSH and LH levels in the SCO group were higher than those in the MA group (P<0.05),while the 17β-estradiol (E

Objective:To investigate correlations between blood lipid levels and clinical characteristics of patients with psoriasis vulgaris (PsV) in Fujian province. Methods:Totally, 245 PsV patients were enrolled from Department of Dermatology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from March 2019 to March 2022, and 250 gender-, age-, and body mass index-matched health checkup examinees served as controls. Their biochemical indicators, such as blood lipids, liver function, and kidney function, were evaluated. Clinical data, such as disease courses, involvement of specific sites, history of smoking and alcohol consumption, and family history of psoriasis, were collected from the PsV patients, and correlations between these clinical data and dyslipidemia were analyzed. Measurement data were compared using t test or Mann-Whitney U test, and enumeration data were compared using chi-square test. Results:There were 122 (50.8%) patients with dyslipidemia in the PsV group and 94 (37.6%) in the control group, and the prevalence of dyslipidemia significantly differed between the two groups ( χ2 = 7.48, P = 0.006). The prevalence of hypo-high-density lipoprotein cholesterolemia was significantly higher in the PsV group (29.8%) than in the control group (18.8%; χ2 = 8.15, P = 0.004). The PsV group showed significantly decreased serum levels of total cholesterol (4.5[3.9, 5.2] mmol/L), high-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (1.1[1.0, 1.3] mmol/L), and apolipoprotein A1 (1.2[1.1, 1.4] g/L) compared with the control group (4.9[4.3, 5.4] mmol/L, 1.3[1.1, 1.5] mmol/L, 1.3[1.2, 1.5] g/L, respectively; all P < 0.001). The proportions of males, patients with a history of alcohol consumption, and patients with involvement of the palmoplantar sites were significantly higher in the PsV patients with dyslipidemia (92.6%, 13.1%, 13.8%, respectively) than in those without dyslipidemia (70.7%, 6.0%, 5.0%, respectively; all P < 0.001). Multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that "male" and "BMI ≥ 25 kg/m 2" were independent risk factors for dyslipidemia in the PsV patients ( OR [95% CI]: 3.94 [1.74, 9.74], 3.18 [1.71, 6.09], respectively), and "involvement of the palmoplantar sites" was independently associated with increased risk of hyperlipidemia ( OR [95% CI]: 3.38 [1.18, 11.01]) . Conclusion:The prevalence of dyslipidemia was higher in PsV patients than in healthy populations, and PsV patients being males, having BMI ≥ 25 kg/m 2 and with involvement of palmoplantar sites may be prone to develop lipid metabolism disorders.
