1.Application of macrophage-related risk model analysis based on The Cancer Genome Atlas database in the study of lung squamous cell carcinoma

Objective To construct a macrophage-related risk assessment model,explore the impact of macrophages on the survival of patients with lung squamous cell carcinoma(LUSC),and predict immune status.Methods We downloaded the data of macrophages and LUSC from the Molecular Signatures DataBase(MSigDB)and The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database,respectively,screened for differentially expressed macrophage-related genes,and constructed a risk score model using Cox regression analysis.Based on the median value of the risk score,LUSC in the TCGA database was divided into high-and low-risk groups.Kaplan-Meier analyses,receiver operating characteristic curve analyses,clinical case characteristics,and immune analyses were used to evaluate the prognostic model.Finally,we determined the relationship between anticancer drug sensitivity and the risk score using the Genomics of Drug Sensitivity in Cancer(GDSC).Results A total of 124 macrophage-related genes were identified in LUSC.High-risk patients had shorter overall survival and higher infiltration of immunosuppressive cells.Ruxolitinib,vinorelbine,paclitaxel,and sorafenib seemingly exhibited better efficacy in low-risk patients.The mortality rate of LUSC patients decreasd with the reduction of risk scores,and CSF2 and EDN2 had a significant impact on overall survival.Conclusion In this study,we constructed a macrophage gene risk score model for predicting the prognosis of LUSC.The model genes CSF2 and END2 can be used as potential targets for subsequent studies of LUSC.

3.Value of improved photography position for post-operative evaluation of proximal humeral fracture

Objective To compare the values of two photography positions for the evaluation after locking plate implantation of the proximal humeral fracture patient.Methods Totally 200 proximal humeral frature patients after locking plate implantation had the front and lateral shoulder joint X-ray films with the conventional and improved photography positions analyzed retrospectively.Post-operative evaluation was carried out with double-blind method from the aspects of morphology of humeral head,condition of locking plate and screw,humeral head angle and bone cortex around humerus.Results Improved photography position behaved better than the conventional position in displaying morphology of humeral head,condition of locking plate and screw,humeral head angle and bone cortex around humerus.Conclusion Improved photography position is recommended to photograph the lateral side of the locking plate for post-operative evaluation.
4.Relationship of vascular endothelial function and atherosclerosis in elderly patients with coronary artery disease

Objective To investigate the endothelial function and atherosclerosis in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD).Methods Two-dimensional echocardiography (2-DE) was used tomeasure changes in brachial artery inner diameter as parameter of endothelium-dependant and endothelium-nondependant vascular diastolic function and pathologic characters of carotid atherosclerosis in 90 elderly CAD patients and 30 controls.Results Endothelium-dependant vascular diastolic function and endothelium-non dependant diastolic function were significantly decreased in CAD group as compared with control group [(9.08±2.28)% and (6.14±2.21)% vs.(15.58±2.20)%, P<0.01].The carotid intima-media thickness and plaque score were significantly increased in CAD group as compared with control group.Conclusions There are correlations of endothelium dysfunction and carotid atherosclerosis are relatied to with coronary atherosclerosis.
5.Application of tissue equalization technique of direct digital radiography in cervical spine-thoracic spine

BACKGROUND: Differences of thick and thin tissues in imaging areas is great because of postero-anterior images in cervical spine-thoracic spine.Although there are many image processing functions in direct digital radiography(DR)image with big range dynamic exposing,but routine direct DR hardly reveals anatomic structure of cervical spine-thoracic spine to detect diseases.Image quality of cervical spine-thoracic spine requires improvement.OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the difference between direct DR image with tissue equalization(TE)technique and standard DR in cervical spine-thoracic spine,so as to explore the best image quality in cervical spine-thoracic spine.METHODS: A total of 200 cases were randomly selected from DR cervical thoracic image from Department of Radiology,General Hospital of Chinese PLA between April 2005 and August 2009 to evaluate the difference between these images of DR processed by tissue equalization and that of standard DR.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The detail images of DR with tissue equalization in different thickness area of body could be revealed clearly in the same image,while the detail images of standard DR in cervical thoracic could be revealed clearly by adjusting window width and location repeatedly.Results show that the image quality of TE technique of direct digital X-ray radiography in cervical spine-thoracic spine could be clearly improved,it could be easily read and avoid the influence of body thickness area.Moreover,it could reveal clearly other part of body in detail.DR image with TE technique in cervical spine-thoracic spine can be applied widely due to simple operation,high diagnosis rate and low cost.
