In 2022， Hainan provincial government launched the project for the prevention and control of viral hepatitis with the goals of a hepatitis B screening rate of 90%， a diagnostic rate of 90%， and a treatment rate of 80% among people aged 18 years and above by the year 2025， and the main intervention measures include population-based prevention， case screening， antiviral therapy， and health management. As of December 31， 2024， a total of 6.875 million individuals in the general population had been screened for hepatitis B， with a screening rate of 95.6%. A total of 184 710 individuals with positive HBsAg were identified， among whom 156 772 were diagnosed through serological reexamination， resulting in a diagnostic rate of 84.9%. A total of 50 742 patients with chronic hepatitis B were identified， among whom 42 921 had hepatitis B-specific health records established for health management， with a file establishment rate of 84.6%. A total of 31 553 individuals received antiviral therapy， with a treatment rate of 62.2%. A total of 2.503 million individuals at a high risk of hepatitis C were screened， among whom 4 870 tested positive for HCV antibody and 3 858 underwent HCV RNA testing， resulting in a diagnostic rate of 79.2%， and 1 824 individuals with positive HCV RNA were identified， among whom 1 194 received antiviral therapy， with a treatment rate of 65.5%. In addition， 159 301 individuals with negative HBsAg and anti-HBs and an age of 20 — 40 years were inoculated with hepatitis B vaccine free of charge. Through the implementation of the project for the prevention and control of viral hepatitis， a large number of hepatitis patients have been identified， treated， and managed in the province within a short period of time， which significantly accelerates the efforts to eliminate the crisis of viral hepatitis.

Understory planting of medicinal plants is a new planting mode that connects Chinese herbal medicine(CHM) with forest resources.The complex and variable understory environmental factors will inevitably affect the yield and quality of understory CHM.This research summarized the research progress on understory planting of medicinal plants based on forest types and environmental factors within the forest from the perspectives of understory light, air temperature and humidity, soil characteristics, and the interaction between crops within the forest.The results showed that the complex and variable light, temperature and humidity, and soil factors(such as fertility, acidity and alkalinity, and microorganisms) under the forest could affect the yield and quality of medicinal plants to varying degrees through physiological activities such as photosynthesis and respiration, resulting in a significant increase or decrease in yield and quality compared to open field cultivation.In addition, the competition or mutual benefit between different crops within the forest could lead to differences in the yield and quality of understory medicinal plants compared to open field cultivation.A reasonable combination of planting could achieve resource sharing and complementary advantages.Therefore, conducting systematic research on the effects of understory environmental factors on the yield and content of medicinal plants with different growth and development characteristics can provide theoretical guidance and technical references for formulating comprehensive strategies for understory planting of medicinal plants, such as selecting suitable medicinal plant varieties, optimizing planting density, and conducting reasonable forest management, thus contributing to the sustainable development and ecological protection of CHM.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of Guilu Taohong Formula on semen quality in varicocele (VC) models of rats, and to explore its possible mechanism. METHODS: Forty-eight male SD rats were randomly divided into four groups (sham group, model group, Guilu Taohong Formula group and L-carnitine group). After the establishment of models, the rats were treated with intragastric administration for eight consecutive weeks. The general condition of the rats was observed. After the gavage, the testicular and epididymal indices were calculated. Semen quality was assessed using an automatic semen analyzer. Apoptosis of testicular cells was assessed by TUNEL staining. And the expression levels of B-cell lymphocytoma-2 (Bcl-2), Bcl-2-associated X protein (Bax) and cysteine aspartate protease-3 (caspase-3) in testicular tissue were detected by Western blot. RESULTS: Compared with the sham group, testicular index, epididymal index, sperm concentration, the percentage of progressive motility of sperm (PR%) and the expression level of Bcl-2 decreased in model group(P<0.01). An increased apoptosis rate of spermatogenic cells and the expression levels of Bax and caspase-3 proteins were observed in model group as well(P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the testicular index, epididymal index, sperm concentration, PR% and the expression level of Bcl-2 in Guilu Taohong Formula group increased significantly (P<0.05, P<0.01). A decreased apoptosis rate of spermatogenic cells and the expression levels of Bax and caspase-3 proteins were detected in Guilu Taohong Formula group as well(P<0.01). Similarly, the L-carnitine group showed increased testicular index, epididymal index, sperm concentration, PR% and the expression level of Bcl-2 protein (P<0.05, P<0.01), where showed decreased apoptosis rate of spermatogenic cells and the expression levels of Bax and caspase-3 proteins compared with model group (P<0.01, P<0.05). CONCLUSION Guilu Taohong Formula improves semen quality in VC model rats and reduces the apoptosis rate of spermatogenic cells in testicular tissue, which may be related to the promotion of Bcl-2 protein expression and the inhibition of Bax and caspase-3 protein expression levels.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effectiveness of Xuanshen Yishen Decoction (XYD) in the treatment of hypertension. METHODS: Hospital electronic medical records from 2019-2023 were utilized to emulate a randomized pragmatic clinical trial. Hypertensive participants were eligible if they were aged ⩾40 years with baseline systolic blood pressure (BP) ⩾140 mm Hg. Patients treated with XYD plus antihypertensive regimen were assigned to the treatment group, whereas those who followed only antihypertensive regimen were assigned to the control group. The primary outcome assessed was the attainment rate of intensive BP control at discharge, with the secondary outcome focusing on the 6-month all-cause readmission rate. RESULTS: The study included 3,302 patients, comprising 2,943 individuals in the control group and 359 in the treatment group. Compared with the control group, a higher proportion in the treatment group achieved the target BP for intensive BP control [8.09% vs. 17.5%; odds ratio (OR)=2.29, 95% confidence interval (CI)=1.68 to 3.13; P<0.001], particularly in individuals with high homocysteine levels (OR=3.13; 95% CI=1.72 to 5.71; P<0.001; P for interaction=0.041). Furthermore, the 6-month all-cause readmission rate in the treatment group was lower than in the control group (hazard ratio=0.58; 95% CI=0.36 to 0.91; P=0.019), and the robustness of the results was confirmed by sensitivity analyse. CONCLUSIONS XYD could be a complementary therapy for intensive BP control. Our study offers real-world evidence and guides the choice of complementary and alternative therapies. Objective To investigate the incidence rate,clinical characteristics,and prognosis of neonatal stroke in Shenzhen,China.Methods Led by Shenzhen Children's Hospital,the Shenzhen Neonatal Data Collaboration Network organized 21 institutions to collect 36 cases of neonatal stroke from January 2020 to December 2022.The incidence,clinical characteristics,treatment,and prognosis of neonatal stroke in Shenzhen were analyzed.Results The incidence rate of neonatal stroke in 21 hospitals from 2020 to 2022 was 1/15 137,1/6 060,and 1/7 704,respectively.Ischemic stroke accounted for 75％(27/36);boys accounted for 64％(23/36).Among the 36 neonates,31(86％)had disease onset within 3 days after birth,and 19(53％)had convulsion as the initial presentation.Cerebral MRI showed that 22 neonates(61％)had left cerebral infarction and 13(36％)had basal ganglia infarction.Magnetic resonance angiography was performed for 12 neonates,among whom 9(75％)had involvement of the middle cerebral artery.Electroencephalography was performed for 29 neonates,with sharp waves in 21 neonates(72％)and seizures in 10 neonates(34％).Symptomatic/supportive treatment varied across different hospitals.Neonatal Behavioral Neurological Assessment was performed for 12 neonates(33％,12/36),with a mean score of(32±4)points.The prognosis of 27 neonates was followed up to around 12 months of age,with 44％(12/27)of the neonates having a good prognosis.Conclusions Ischemic stroke is the main type of neonatal stroke,often with convulsions as the initial presentation,involvement of the middle cerebral artery,sharp waves on electroencephalography,and a relatively low neurodevelopment score.Symptomatic/supportive treatment is the main treatment method,and some neonates tend to have a poor prognosis.

Objective To evaluate and analyze the resting-state MRI data of patients with chronic subjective tinnitus via the multilayer brain functional network and to find the relevant node parameters with certain dynamic characteristics.Methods A total of 28 chronic subjective tinnitus patients(tinnitus group)and 39 sex,age,and education-matched healthy volunteers(control group)were included.After completing relevant otologic and neuropsychiatric tests for all subjects,3.0T MRI data were collected.Data preprocessing,dynamic functional connection analysis,multilayer modularization and network switching rate were performed.Correlation analysis between MRI data results and clinical data were further conducted.Results There was no significant difference in terms of Q between tinnitus group and control group(P＞0.05).Compared with the control group,the network switching rate of bilateral anterior cingulate gyrus(P＜0.001)and right hippocampus(P＜0.01)was significantly decreased in the tinnitus group.Additionally,the network switching rate of right hippocampus was negatively correlated with the duration of tinnitus(r=-0.503,P=0.006).Conclusion Based on using multilayer brain functional network method,the signal regulations in anterior cingulate gyrus and hippocampus in chronic subjective tinnitus patients is changed,while the alteration of hippocampus may be related to the duration of disease.

Objective To compare the safety and efficacy of the da Vinci robot and thoracoscopic subxiphoid approach for the treatment of anterior mediastinal tumors. Methods The clinical data of patients who underwent anterior mediastinal tumor resection through the subxiphoid approach admitted to the same medical group in the Department of Thoracic Surgery of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University between June 2020 and April 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the surgery approach, the patients were divided into a robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) group and a video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) group. The perioperative data and the incidence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results A total of 79 patients were enrolled. There were 41 patients in the RATS group, including 13 males and 28 females, with an average age of 45.61±14.99 years. There were 38 patients in the VATS group, including 14 males and 24 females, with an average age of 47.84±15.05 years. All patients completed the surgery successfully. Hospitalization cost and operative time were higher or longer in the RATS group than those in the VATS group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Intraoperative bleeding, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative water and food intake time, postoperative off-bed activity time, white blood cell count, neutrophil percentage and visual analogue scale (VAS) score on the first postoperative day, white blood cell count and neutrophil percentage on the third postoperative day, duration of analgesic pump use, the number of voluntary compressions of the analgesic pump, and mediastinal drainage volume were all superior to those in the VATS group (P<0.05). The differences in VAS scores on the third postoperative day, duration of drainage tube retention and postoperative complication rates were not statistically different between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion RATS subxiphoid anterior mediastinum tumor resection is a safe and feasible surgical method with less injury and higher safety, which is conducive to rapid postoperative recovery and has wide clinical application prospects.

Atherosclerosis is the pathological basis of a variety of cardiovascular diseases,which are still the leading cause of human death worldwide.Ferroptosis is a kind of iron dependent non-apoptotic cell death mode,which is closely related to various physiological mechanisms.Recent studies have found that ferroptosis in macrophages plays an important role in the occurrence and development of atherosclerosis.Based on the imbalance of iron metabolism in macrophages,this paper reviews the correlation between ferroptosis in macrophages and atherosclerosis in terms of the interaction between ferroptosis in macrophages and lipid peroxidation,inflammation,oxidative stress,etc.,in order to provide new ideas for the study of the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.

ObjectiveTo investigate the possible mechanism of Buzhong Yulin Decoction （补中愈淋汤） in the prevention and treatment of recurrent urinary tract infection. MethodsThe mouse models of recurrent urinary tract infection were established by uropathogenic Escherichia coli （UPEC） strain UTI89 by bladder perfusion， and the successful mouse models were randomly divided into a model group， an antibiotic group， and a low- and high-dose Buzhong Yulin Decoction group， with six mice in each group. In addition， 5 C57BL/6 mice without modelling were taken as blank group. The low- and high-dose Buzhong Yulin Decoction groups received 0.1 ml/10 g of decoction by gavage， with concentrations of 1.3 g/ml and 5.2 g/ml， respectively； the antibiotic group received 0.1 ml/10 g of levofloxacin hydrochloride solution with 5 mg/ml by gavage； the blank and model groups received 0.1 ml/10 g of distilled water by gavage. Each group was gavaged once a day for 7 consecutive days. The total number of urine marks， the number of central urine marks， and the total urine volume of the urine marks were observed by the urine marking test； HE staining was used to observe the histopathological changes in the bladder of mice； serum levels of the inflammatory factors interleukin 1β （IL-1β）， interleukin 6 （IL-6） and tumour necrosis factor α （TNF-α） were detected by ELISA； the morphology of the epithelial cells of bladder was observed by scanning electron microscopy； immunofluorescence assay to detect bladder tissue anti-UroPlakin 3A protein level and UPEC bacterial load； the spread plate method to detect urinary bacterial load and bacterial load of bladder epithelial cells； RT-PCR method to detect Ras-related protein Rab-11A （RAB11A） and Ras-related protein Rab-27B （RAB27B） mRNA level in bladder tissue； immunoblotting to detect microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain3 （LC3） and P62 protein levels in bladder tissue. ResultsCompared with the blank group， the bladder epithelial cell layers were lost and showed abnormal morphology in mice of the model group； bladder tissue UroPlakin 3A protein and RAB11A and RAB27B mRNA levels reduced， the total number of urine marks， the number of central urine marks， bladder tissue UPEC bacterial load， urinary bacterial load， bacterial load in bladder epithelial cells， serum IL-1β， IL-6， and TNF-α levels， and LC3 and P62 protein levels in bladder tissue all elevated （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. Compared with the model group， the bladder epithelial cell layers were intact and the morphology of epithelial cells were regular in the low- and high-dose Buzhong Yulin Decoction groups； the average surface area of bladder epithelial cells reduced， the levels of UroPlakin 3A protein and RAB11A and RAB27B mRNA in bladder tissues elevated， and total number of urine marks， the number of central urine marks， bladder tissue UPEC bacterial load， urinary bacterial load， bacterial load in bladder epithelial cells， serum IL-1β， IL-6， and TNF-α levels， and P62 protein levels in bladder tissue all reduced （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）， but LC3 protein levels showed no statistically significant （P＞0.05）. In the antibiotic group， the bladder epithelial cells were partially missing and the morphology of epithelial cells was abnormal. Compared with the antibiotic group， the average surface area of the bladder epithelial cells in the mice increased in the low- and high-dose Buzhong Yulin Decoction groups， the bacterial load of the bladder epithelial cells decreased， and the P62 protein level of the bladder tissue decreased （P＜0.05）. When comparing between the low- and high-dose Buzhong Yulin Decoction groups， the differences in each index were not statistically significant （P＞0.05）. ConclusionBuzhong Yulin Decoction may prevent and treat recurrent urinary tract infection by repairing the bladder mucosal barrier， increasing RAB11A and RAB27B level and enhancing autophagy in bladder tissues， thereby facilitating bacterial clearance from bladder epithelial cells and reducing the bacterial load of bladder epithelial cells.

Objective To understand current epidemic trend of coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19)in Anhui province in the optimization policy stage,and to analyze the pathogenic characteristics of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)in different population.Methods Using a cross-sectional survey design,from December 19 to 20,2022,an online questionnaire survey was conducted among residents of Anhui province through the official Wechat public accounts of provincial and municipal institutions with high traffic,to collect infor-mation on the incidence and clinic situation of COVID-19.The chi-square test was used to compare the proportion of COVID-19 suspected symptoms in different regions,ages and occupations.Results A total of 69 014 question-naires were distributed and 68 232 valid questionnaires were recovered with an effective rate of 98.97％.The pro-portion of the participants with COVID-19 suspected symptoms in the past 2 weeks was 51.37％,of which 77.88％self-medicated at home.The top three cities were Bozhou,Fuyang and Bengbu.The age group of 15-59 had the highest proportion of COVID-19 suspected symptoms(51.96％).Among various occupations,service providers had the highest proportion of COVID-19 suspected symptoms(61.07％).70.20％of the respondents felt anxious about the infection of SARS-CoV-2 and thought it was more serious than the flu.Conclusion The relatively high number of the infected cases and the anxiety of the people are all challenges faced by Anhui province in the stage of optimizing policies.Under the new situation of the epidemic,it is necessary to continuously monitor the local preva-lent strains and strengthen the monitoring of clinical symptoms of the infected cases,and effectively control the speed of the virus spread through public health policies and various economic and publicity measures,so as not to cause a run on medical resources and excessive excess deaths.
