1.Standardization and validation of analytical methods for Inula helenium L. root

Introduction:
Inula helenium L. is a medicinal plant widely used in traditional Mongolian and
Tibetan medicine. Its roots and rhizomes contain active compounds, including sesquiterpene
lactones (alantolactone and isoalantolactone), inulin, flavonoids, and essential oils, with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and immunomodulatory properties. This study evaluates the
quality of Inula helenium L. roots and quantifies their key active compounds in accordance with
pharmacopoeial standards.
Methods:
The roots of Inula helenium L. cultivated in the Medicinal Plant Botanical Garden of
Monos Group were used as raw material. Physicochemical parameters, including moisture, total
ash, acid-insoluble ash, and extractive values, were determined according to pharmacopoeial
methods. Qualitative analysis was carried out using color reactions for polysaccharides and
thin-layer chromatography for the identification of sesquiterpene lactones. Quantitative analysis
was performed using spectrophotometry for total polysaccharides and high-performance liquid
chromatography (HPLC) for the determination of alantolactone and isoalantolactone.
Conclusion
The physicochemical parameters of Inula helenium L. root were standardized, with
total inulin content determined as 47.13±0.45%, alantolactone as 1.41±0.02%, and isoalantolactone
as 1.33±0.02%. Analytical methods for inulin, alantolactone, and isoalantolactone were validated
according to ICH Q2(R2) guidelines, confirming the possibility of updating the MNS standard or
developing a manufacturer’s pharmacopoeial monograph based on these validated methods.
2.Psychological status of students at the mongolian university of pharmaceutical sciences: a cross-sectional study on the prevalence and determinants of stress, depression, and anxiety

Introduction:
Stress, anxiety, and depression are common psychological health concerns among university
students worldwide, often impairing academic performance, relationships, and overall well-being. In Mongolia, limited research has addressed these issues. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of stress, anxiety, and depression among students at the Mongolian University of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MUPS) using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21) and to identify associated factors.
Methods:
A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 214 students aged 18–50 years. Data were
collected through the DASS-21 and analyzed using SPSS. Descriptive statistics determined prevalence,
while inferential analyses explored associations between mental health outcomes and sociodemographic or contextual variables.
Results:
Mental health challenges were highly prevalent among MUPS students. Nearly one-third of those
aged 18–25 reported high or extremely high stress, while older students (36–50 years) showed elevated
depression and anxiety levels. First-, fifth-, and sixth-year students were particularly vulnerable, with almost half experiencing very high stress or anxiety. Pharmaceutical students reported higher rates of depression and stress, whereas traditional medicine students reported more stress and anxiety. Environmental conditions (p=0.020), health status (p=0.001), financial difficulties (p=0.037), and interpersonal relationship problems (p=0.023) were significantly associated with adverse outcomes.
Conclusion
The findings highlight the urgent need for targeted interventions to reduce stress, anxiety, and
depression among MUPS students. Policies and preventive strategies addressing environmental, health
related, financial, and social factors are essential to promote student well-being.
3.Isolated compounds from Saxifraga Spinulosa and their antioxidative activity

Abstract
The genus Saxifraga, one of the largest genera of the Saxifragaceae family, comprises 540 species and is distributed widely in mountainous and rocky regions, with 12 species being found in Mongolia. Saxifraga spinulosa Adams is a perennial herbaceous plant common in mainland China, Russia, and Mongolia, inhabiting stony marginal terrain. The isolated compounds from Saxifraga spinulosa were screened for DPPH radical-scavenging activity, with Trolox as a positive control (IC50 23.3 µM). All the new glucosides exhibited potent activities (IC50 19.0–72.9 µM). A crude ex- tract of S. spinulosa has been reported to display the highest DPPH radical-scavenging activity among numerous Mongolian medicinal plants, which may now be attributed, at least in part, to the presence of the new flavonoid and galloyl group-containing isolated compounds.
