Abstract

Sodium salicylate-borate is a complex salt easily prepared by the reaction of salicylic acid and borax at 40-50℃. A three-color point with Rf values of 0.72, 0.58, and 0.48 respectively was obtained on the thin layer chromatography. The maxium absorbent peak of this complex salt (20?g/ml) was at 300 nm. determined with the ultraviolet spectrophotometer scanner. The mycostatic effect of this complex salt varies with its concentrations. It is effective against the superficial infections with the concentration of over 1250 ?g/ml; and 2500?g/ml is necessary for the treatment of deep fungus infections.
