QFD-based improvement of community healthcare quality

Objective The quality function deployment (QFD) technique is used to quantitatively identify the improvement priorities of service factors. The study aims at identifying measures to improve community healthcare quality and methodology references for such improvement. Methods Based on the patients demand survey in the community, the AHP method is used to identify the importance of patient's needs, and then the house of quality (HOQ) technique of QFD is used to transfer such needs into the corresponding service elements of healthcare. Calculations in the end determine the final priorities of improvement measures. Results The top four priorities in the improvement include strengthening the service management and examination of the medical staff, improving the capabilities of medical staff, introducing moral evaluation for medical staff, introducing consultation &training for disease prevention, rehabilitation and healthcare. Conclusion Case studies in a community prove that quality function deployment (QFD) technique can effectively provide methodology reference for the improvement of community healthcare quality.

Theoretical basis and result indicator screening of hospital comprehensive evaluation system

The paper presented the theoretic basis for the comprehensive hospital evaluation system, and initiated the indicator system for hospital comprehensive evaluation results with both Delphi method and the balance scorecard. Two rounds of experts consultation have decided to evaluate hospital comprehensive strengths from such aspects as hospital resources deployment, business process, financial standing, customers, customers, public welfare and development potential of the hospital. Under these grade-1 indicators are 13 grade-2 ones and 83 grade-3 ones. The importance, operability and sensitivity of these indicators are accepted by experts unanimously.

Promoting hospital development in"Healthy Chongqing"

To support the ongoing health reform in China,Chongqing municipal government made the decision in 2008 "Building Healthy Chongqing" ,and pinpointed for the first time regional development as a key goal.In line with this situation,the hospital proposed such hypothesis changes as from "disease hypothesis to "health hypothesis",from "illness oriented" to "capability oriented",and from "shaping development" to "adaptive development",as well as from one-sided efforts of medical staff to minimize casualty to joint efforts with patients to safeguard life and health.Focusing on these four strategic shifts,the hospital works in developing its "technical attraction,service capacity,innovation capacity,and emergency assurance capability,and management soft power",aiming at building a sustainable hospital in its development.

Investigation and analysis of the current human resources in clinical laboratories of hospitals in Ningxia province

Objective To investigate the current human resources and continuing education of clinical laboratories in Ningxia's hospitals and identify problems to resolve.Methods A questionnaire survey was made to study the current human resources in clinical laboratories of hospitals in Ningxia,and the data obtained were analyzed.Results There were 676 laboratory staff employed in 75 clinical 5.1.In terms of education,the ratio their titles ranging from postgraduate,graduate,college Differences in their continuing education are significant statistically.Conclusion Imbalance is found in the distribution of academic titles,education and age groups in such clinical laboratories,with a shortage of those of high academic title and education,and great gaps in continuing education.

Implementation of clinical pathways has a natural tie with payment modes of medical insurance,as various payment modes apply different impacts on clinical pathway.This article compared the strengths and weaknesses of various payment modes,and analyzed their impacts on clinical pathway.This way the authors provide references for decision makers of medical insurance policy.

Role of improved primary healthcare compensation for curbing over-treatment

Unleashed growth of gross healthcare expenses has emerged a major headache for public administration of countries at large.In China as well,such a rapid growth is incurred mostly by overtreatment due to irrational healthcare compensation.Against this background,it is highly significant to have a brand new insight into over-treatment in China' s viewpoint,and to further study the role of an improved mechanism for primary healthcare compensation for the purpose of curbing over-treatment.These efforts will help improve the primary healthcare service and realize goals of the ongoing health reform.

Reference of and comparison between managed care and traditional medical insurance in America

Managed care insurance is growing into the mainstream health insurance model in the United States. The differences between this and the traditional health insurance lie in their economic model, their autonomy of consumers in their choices of suppliers, their economic risk exposure for clinicians, their effect on utilization review and their impact to clinical decision-making. Managed care can only, in terms of cost constraints, affect or limit the autonomy of medical decision, instead of making decisions in lieu of clinicians. Under managed care, both the professional risk of clinicians and health benefits of consumers are exposed to obvious negative influence. In the meantime, the model is facing growing difficulties in the future for the market itself. In this regard, prudence is required to introduce managed care in China.

Development of community health information systems in Zhabei District, Shanghai

The paper covered the development, structure, functionality, effectiveness and goals of the community health information system in the district. It is found that Zhabei district has developed the standard electronic health archives which can be collected by various sources and renewed instantly;regional health information sharing and collaboration platform has been established as well; a sharing and joint service platform has been built for regional health information sharing between communities and secondary hospitals shared; "Health key" has been developed as a model for self-service health management for residents.

Importance of disease bio-banks and status quo analysis

Disease bio-banks are an important strategic resource for medicine development. Such a bank with complete information and high information sharing enhances the competitiveness of medicine and promote the development of translational medicine. The present development of such banks is found with such setbacks as weak government leadership and standardization, as well as lack of a sharing mechanism. Therefore medical institutions should strengthen their standardization and informationization of disease bio-banks, which deserve sufficient government policy support and guidance. These efforts will help preserve our rich clinical resources, in addition to their integration and sharing for medicine advancement.

Improving price management system to safeguard interests of both doctors and patients

Price management plays an important role in implementing government price policies,reducing health care costs and improving economic efficiency in the hospital.The article discusses the ways to improve hospital' s price management,and to improve economic efficiency from the following four aspects.First,to step up publicity,foster the awareness of price management,and improve the staff awareness of price management.Second,in the event of introducing new services and technologies,to timely establish reasonable and legal charging standards,and introduce business opportunities for the hospital.Third,to strengthen price management information system,improving the accuracy of charging.Fourth,to strengthen cost accounting for the purposes of lower expenses and higher efficiency,and reducing patients' financial burden.
