Coach-led transitional care of elderlies in the United States:Intervention model

This paper detailed the Coleman concept and practice of coach-led transitional care of elderlies,team members and their responsibilities,intervention aspects and main tasks,as well as the intervention program and its effect analysis.Then the authors analyzed the present transitional care development in China,and recommended on development of a likewise care model for senior chronic disease patients in the country,such as building multi-disciplinary transitional care teams to provide uninterrupted care and service,encourage patients and caregivers to embrace self-management of diseases,and build an appraisal mechanism to ensure quality of care.

Development of a hospital performance scale based on patient experience

The paper described the development stages of a hospital performance evaluation scale based on patient experience.An empirical application on 7 856 patients of 26 hospitals in four provinces in the country identified the challenges encountered in the course of its application.These include limits of patients experience,variations on the experience reports incurred by different services experienced by patients,and setting of the patient-inpatient ratio among others.Solutions proposed based on these studies aim at creating a patient experience scale tailored to Chinese patients.

Challenges and solutions for the elderly care industry featuring combination of medical service and daily care in Anhui province

A picture of great market potential and mismatch of supply and demand in Anhui was drawn in the paper,with five challenges analyzed for the industry in general.The authors proposed to integrate medical resources and aging care resources,to build a diversified and tiered health care and aging care supply system,an integrated administrative coordination mechanism,and enhance fiscal support among other policy suggestions.These proposals were designed to encourage the development of the aging care industry featuring a combination of medical resources and aging care.

Combined systems of standard resident training program and master degree candidates in Chongqing:practice and discussions

This paper introduced the approach and practice of merging the standardized resident training with the master degree candidates training in Chongqing.A comparison of the performance and pass rate of the completion examinations between the standardized training of specialist residents in 2014 and those of merged training for both residents and master degree candidates in 2015 in Chongqing,analyzed the patterns and differences of the two training programs.Based on such,the authors proposed to improve the combined training mechanism,by completing leadership and rules,enhancing quality control and completing the appraisal systems.

"Research on the KAP influencing factors for the ""Three-manager mode"" in hierarchical medical system for chronic diseases"

Objective To investigate the influencing factors for knowledge,attitude and practice(KAP)of the Three-manager mode about hierarchical medical system of Chronic diseases of the community residents in Xiamen,and provide references for the implementation of hierarchical medical system.Methods Multi-stage random sampling method was adopted,and 400 residents were randomly sampled from 5 communities of Xiamen for questionnaire survey.The survey features the dependent variable of the community residents′ knowing and joining-in the Three-manager mode,the internal factors(social demographic characteristics),and the external factors(medical expenditure and healthcare insurance).On such basis,four logistic regression models were built for analysis of such influencing factors.Results 41.10% of the surveyed were aware of the Three-manager mode,and 39.71% of the hypertension/diabetes patients among them joined in the hypertension network or diabetes network.Age,education,medical expenditure and referral experiences were significant influencing factors for KAP level of the Three-manager mode,while the residents of older age,higher education and referral experiences were high in their KAP;those of lower per capita monthly income,hypertension or diabetes,with coverage of medical insurance and satisfied with medical consultation in community were high in their awareness of Three-manager mode.Conclusions The KAP level of Three-manager mode of the community residents in Xiamen is acceptable,yet expected of further improvement.Room of further improvement includes enhancement of synergy of the Three-manager mode,enhanced motivation of government financial support and medical insurance,better service functions of community institutions,and especially the construction of hierarchical medical system.

Analysis of residents′ willingness to hierarchical medical system and their intention of first visit hospitals

Objective To analyze the residents′ willingness to hierarchical medical system and their intention of first visit hospitals.Methods Customized questionnaire was used for in-home survey of 1 500 households in three cities of Shandong province,with 773 of the residents aware of hierarchical medical system used as the study samples.Descriptive analysis and multi factor Logistic regression were employed for statistical analysis of their intention.Results 85.0% the residents expressed willingness to embrace hierarchical medical system.55.0% of the residents prefer primary medical institutions as their first visit in case of mild illness,a choice chosen by more rural residents(58.9%)than urban residents(48.0%),a difference of statistical significance(P<0.01).In the case of severe illness,87.3% of them prefer major hospitals as their first visit,and more urban residents(94.3%)take this option than the rural residents(83.3%),a difference of statistical significance(P<0.01).Service ability of medical institutions and residents′ concept for medical service played a key role in their choice of first visit hospitals.Conclusions The key to ensuring the implementation effect of hierarchical medical system lies in better service ability of primary medical institutions and correction of residents′ irrational medication concepts.

Doctor-patient relationship management information system:building and application

This paper introduced the construction and application of the doctor-patient relationship management information system at a tertiary general hospital in Zigong,and presented a preliminary evaluation of its application effect.On such basis,the authors proposed to enhance medical management capacity with informationization,and motivate medical workers with IT tools.At the national level,a standardized management for medical behaviors should be established,to encourage elevation of medical quality and safety,thus effectively improving the doctor-patient relationship.

Review of the doctor-patient relationship:a perspective from the general rules of the Civil Law

The General Rules of the Civil Law of the People′s Republic of China(hereinafter the General Rules)shall officially come into effect as of July 1 of 2017.In this consideration,the paper probed into the legal attributes of the doctor-patient relationship in China in view of the relationship management in line with the General Rules.Also analyzed are the basic principles to be observed by both parties as regulated by the General Rules and patient rights protection.These efforts aim at elevating China′s medical service,protecting legitimate rights of both parties,and encourage a healthy and harmonious doctor-patient relationship.

Hospital recruitment indicator system:a competence theory based applied research

The paper presented the competence theory,and its application in the current hospital recruitment in China.Based on existing studies,the authors proposed a competence-based hospital recruitment indicator system and measurement approach,consisting of 15 level-1 indicators and 16 level-2 indicators.They also named the merits of such a system compared to conventional ones as evidenced in practice.On such basis the paper proposed to further improve such a system and mechanism,as well as the quantitative research and empirical study of the competence indicator system.

Evaluation of functional departments′ position values at a general hospital in Beijing

Objective To assess the relative value of individual positions in the functional departments of a general hospital in Beijing,for reference of improving the salary allocation system and fine management of human resources.Methods The expert consultation method and International Position Evaluation system were used to quantitatively assess the tasks,work difficulty,size of responsibility and the qualifications required for every.Results A total of 38 experts contributed to this research which studied 140 positions including all functional departments of this hospital.The department having the most positions is the finance department(17)and the least is the Youth League committee(1).The position scoring the highest(805)was the director of medical affairs department;that scoring the lowest(263)was the food and beverage service positions of the diet and nutrition department.There was an evident turning point at score 547.Conclusions Functional departments′ position setting of this hospital proves reasonable,and the assessment scoring can reflect the value of the position in related dimensions.The result can be used as reference indexes for the hospital to perfect its human resource management system and improve the remuneration precision.
