Study on malposition of IOL treatment methods

30 patients with malposition of IOL were operated (30 eyes, 12 males, 18 females), in which 5 eyes with the IOL dropped in the vitreous cavity, 13 eyes with the decentration of IOL, 12 eyes with the IOL displaced into the pupil. Especially, 16 eyes with early severe malposition of IOL after operation 2 weeks. After operation, 29 eyes with the reposition of IOL were centrated. However, after 12 months 9 eyes with recurrent of malposition of IOL. Especially, 16 eyes were operated in early postoperation stage by I and III methods showed good results. These eyes with recurrent of malposition of IOL were operated in late postoperation stage

Management of children with acute respiratory infection (ARI) at health station of Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen province

Study on 103 records of children, under 5 years old with acute respiratory infection (ARI) admited to the Khoai Chau district health center of Hung Yen province, on the May 2001. The results: the rate of ARI classifications and diagnose following guidelines of WHO were 59.2% (low rate). Of those, the rate of children with pneumonia were classified following WHO guidelines to be 71%, no pneumonia to be 68.6%, severe pneumonia to be 20%. The rate of antibiotic treatment following WHO regimen were very low (6.8%). Overuse of antibiotics were very popular. Benzyl penicillin plus gentamicine were used not only for single pneumonia but also sore throat

Clinical characteristics and treatment results on 50 complete heart block cases

Study on the significant symptomatic and effect of treatment methods on 50 patients with 3 degree heart block (23 females and 27 males), were treated at Cardiovascular Hospital during 2002-2003. The results: 70% of total patients had Adams-stokes cyncope. 28% of them were made extent or temporary pacemaker with indications as slow heart rate making a severe Adams-stokes syncope or nearly making Adams-stokes syncope, A-V disorders, young patients with suspective inflammatory induced A-V block. All of patients were treated by Atropine, Theophylin, Ephedrin or Isoprenalin, but only 2 cases decreased of A-V block. 38 patients had successful with permanent pacemaker implantation

To remark about incidence of Helicobacter pylori infections and chronic gastritis in patients with duodenogastric reflux

Study on 82 gastritis patients (19-63 years old), in which 40 patients had endoscopic features of duodenogastric reflux and 42 had no endoscopic of duodenogastric reflux, were treated at 19.8 Hospital from December 2000 to October 2001. All subjects were assessed of gastric mucosa's damages in endoscopy and histology as well as Helicobacter pylori infection rate. The results: the rate of patients were infected with H.pylori significantly fewer than in group without duodenogastric reflux. The rate of H.pylori infection in mild duodenogastric reflux patients was significantly higher than the rate in moderate and severe duodenogastric reflux patients. In patients with both factors (duodenogastric reflux and H.pylori infection), chronic atrophic gastritis' rate was significantly higher compared with the rate of patients who had only one factor or non of both. In patients with duodenogastric reflux but without H.pylori infection: simply chronic gastritis' rate was significantly lower and chronic atrophic gastritis' rate was higher than group without duodenogastric reflux

To remark about maternal mortality in 1991-2000 period in Thai Binh province

Study on maternal mortality and maternal mortality-induced basic causes in Thai Binh province during 1991-2000. The results: maternal mortality by different causes is 61.1%. Direct causes on maternal mortality are uterine hemorrhage, toxemia of pregnancy, infection, rupture of uterus and curettage for abortion. Maternal mortality by indirect causes is 34.4%, in which, nearly a half of deaths due to pregnant cardiopathies and over a half of deaths due to other indirect causes. There are 6 cases of maternal mortality not diagnosed. Maternal mortality occurs mainly at the age from 25 to 39 years old

The primary evaluating pulmonary ventilation disorder in asthma patients throught maximum expire volume/second (VEMS) and average flow of expire stage in 25% to 75% of alive capacity

Study on 33 asthma patients and identifying maximum expiring volume per second and medium flow between expiring stage of living volume from 25% to 75% in asthma patients without severe stuffy treated at Bach Mai hospital in 2000. The results: there was no difference of sex in asthma. 24% of patients with childhood asthma; 0.6% of them with asthma over 20 years and 30% of them with asthma from 10 to 20 years. After treatment, medium expiring gaz flow at the middle of expiring stage at 25% to 75% of living volume decreased down 50.8% compared with theory value. 48% of patient with mixture ventilation disorder. 40% of patients with obstructed ventilation disorder, 24% of patients with pheriperal obstructed ventilation disorder

Diarrheagemic pathogens of children under age of 5 years old

Study on 884 children under age of 5 years old (627 diarrhea children, 257 healthy children) at 4 places: National Pediatric Hospital, Saint Paul Hospital, Thanh Nhan Hospital and Kim Lien primary school from March 2001 to April 2002. The results: the most prevalent pathogen was Rotavirus with the prevalence of 45% in children under 5 years old with diarrhea, E.Coli was the second commonly pathogen, was isolated by PCR technique with the rate of 24% in diarrhea children, 12% in healthy children and then Shigella with 3.2% in diarrhea children. No Salmonella and V.cholerae strains were identified PCR was used as effective method to indentify and differenciate diarrheagenic E.Coli strains

The status, causes and solutions to reduce children mortality at Thai Binh province, 2001-2010 period

Analysis of 1.701 cases of children mortality under 14 years old at 7 districts and Thai Binh city, from January 1998 to December 2000. The results: early neonatal mortality (< 7days) or a part of prenatal mortality accounted for 35.3%; neonatal mortality 41.6%, children mortality under 1 year old: 57.6%; children mortality under 5 years old: 83.5% compared with children mortality total under 14 years old. Children mortality rate under 1 year old was 13.22%o; Children mortality rate under 5 years old trended to decrease from 23.3%o (1998) to 17.5%o (2000). The main causes of children mortality was cerebral diseases, meninges diseases; respiratory diseases, cardiovascular disease; then some accidents as drowning, electric shock, traffic accident and the third was premature birth

The relationship between consumption custom, habits and the overweight and obesity status of the primary school pupils in Dong Da district, Ha Noi city

Nerestoxin poisoning

In 2002-2004 year period, at Bach Mai Hospital, 6 intoxicated victims aged 14-41 were admitted (3 males, 3 females). They attempted to suicide and hospitalized 15-60 min. after use the toxic with the symptoms of gastro-enteritis (vomit even vomit with blood), abdomen pain, diarrhoea, purpurae and systenic edema, circulation volume reduced, high blood pressure, tachycardia, 3 victims who consumed 7-10g recovered but 3 who consumed > 20g died 24 hours after hospitalization
