Abstract

20 guinea pigs were equally divided into two groups. Periodontitis was formed with silk thread suture and high sugar diet in one group; the other group was used as the control. The prostaglandin E 2 (PGE 2) in gingiva and in alveolar bone was measured with radioimmunoassay(RIA). PGE 2 level in gingiva in both groups was higher than that in alveolar bone.
