Objective To analyze the chemical composition of Porphyra haitanensis cultivated in Fujian Province.Methods The contents of crude protein,carbohydrate,crude fat,ash,free amino acids,inorganic elements,chlorophyll a,carotenoid,phycoerythrin and phycocyanin of dried P.haitanensis were determined by routine analysis methods.Results It showed the contents of crude protein,carbohydrate,crude fat and ash of dried P.haitanensis were 34.88%～37.21%,46.86%～49.27%,1.68%～2.09%and 8.75%～9.92%.The contents of chlorophyll a,carotenoid,phycoerythrin and phycocyanin in P.haitanensis were 60 1～646,120～130,1289～1802,1255～1743mg(100g)-1.P.haitanensis is rich in free amino acids and inorganic elements,i.e.K,Na,Mg,Fe,P and Zn,but very little heavy metals,i.e.Cu,Cd and Cr.Conclusions The P.haitanensis was a kind of health food,which was in high content of protein,low content of fat and rich of inorganic elements.
