Abstract

The aim of treating depression has gone from symptom control to functional recovery. The concept of functioning has also shifted from social functioning to psychosocial functioning. For a long time, the use of assessment tools for psychosocial functioning has been confused in depressed patients. In this paper, we sort out the tools regarding the assessment of depression functioning. In addition, we recommend corresponding evaluation strategies and emphasize the significance of psychosocial functioning as a long-term indicator of depression.
