Abstract

Objective To investigate the risk factors of peripherally inserted central catheter-associated phlebitis(PICC) in patients with lung cancer and its nursing interventions. Methods A total of 60 patients with lung cancer treated with PICC in our hospital were selected as research objects, the patients were divided into phlebitis group (n =13) and non-phlebitis (n =47) according to the occurrence of phlebitis.Risk factors for phlebitis were given univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results Age,education, occupation, catheter timing,one-time success rate of catheterization, puncture vein, the puncture time of catheterization, elbow flex after catheterization, physical labor and SCL-90 scores between the two groups showed statistically significant differences (P <0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the one-time success of catheterization, education and physical labor after 3 d and low physical labor were the protective factors of phlebitis in PICC (P < 0.05).Catheter on the day of chemotherapy, the activity on the third postoperative day, occupation as a farmer were risk factors for PICC associated phlebitis (P < 0.05).Conclusion Intubation time,one-time success rate of puncture, activity after catheter, education, physical labor are closely related with phlebitis of lung cancer patients with PICC,and medical stuff should choose the appropriate timing, and strengthen the health education of patients.
