Abstract

Objective To analyze the application value of postural and rehabilitation exercise therapy in patients with lumber or cervical intervertebral disc herniation. Methods A total of 140 patients with lumber or cervical intervertebral disc herniation were randomly divided into observation group (n =70) and control group (n =70).The control group were given conventional treatment based on acupuncture, medicine and traction while the observation group were given regular postural and rehabilitation exercise therapy on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the degree of cervical and lumbar pain, lumbar vertebral function and cervical and lumbar vertebral activity were evaluated. Results The total clinical outcomes in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (87.14% vs.72.86%,P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in visual analogue score (VAS) and lumbar dysfunction index (ODI) score between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05).After treatment, the above scores were significantly decreased, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in cervical anteflexion, backward extension, lumbar flexion and extension and rotation activity between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05).After treatment, the above indices were significantly improved, and observation group was significantly higher than control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion The efficacy of postural and rehabilitation exercise therapy is satisfactory in the treatment of patients with protrusion of lumber or cervical intervertebral disc. And it is of great value in relieving pain and improving the activity of cervical and lumber vertebrae.
