Abstract:
Neutrophil extracellular traps (NET) are reticular structures composed of extracellular DNA framework, histone proteins, and neutrophil elastase, myeloperoxidase, which are released by neutrophils stimulated by infection or other factors. The formation of NET has a significant role in promoting thrombosis when patients are suffering from sepsis, cancer, etc. Moreover, NET are also associated with immune thrombosis. NET play an important role in thrombosis predominately by promoting platelet adhesion, activating Ⅻ factors, and inhibiting the activity of tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) to promote the thrombus formation. Recent researches have found that the interaction between NET and complementscan also promote the thrombus formation. Here, we summarize the findings of NET in several common thrombophilia disorders and the latest researches on the role of NET in thrombosis.
