Abstract:
Both hyperkalemia and hypokalemia crisis are potentially life-threatening electrolyte disorder.The abnormality of potassium concentration in plasma is mainly caused by potassium cell shift and the abnormal renal potassium excretion.It is regulated by many factors such as insulin, catecholamine, acid-base balance and aldosterone.To prevent or treat life-threatening complications, correct hyperkalemia or hypokalemia, diagnose and treat potential causes are treatment strategies for severe abnormalities of blood potassium.
