Abstract:
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) includes Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). The pathogenic mechanism is complex and the etiology is yet unclarified. Now it is generally believed that intestinal microbial dysbiosis plays an important role in the pathogenesis of IBD. In recent years, the development and application of next-generation sequencing have deepened the research on fungi in the initiation and chronicity of IBD. In this article, the advances in research on gut fungi in CD were reviewed.
