Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of L-carnitine injection on platelet and mitochondria in patients with sepsis by observing the changes in platelet counts and platelet mitochondrial. Methods 62 patients diagnosed as sepsis were selected and randomly divided into a conventional treatment group(group A)and a L-carnitine group(group B).We observed the platelet counts,changes in permeability transition pore of platelet mi-tochondrial,granular transmembrane potential,and ATP content in the mitochondria before and after treatment. Results After treatment with L-carnitine injection,the platelet counts,permeability transition pore of platelet mitochondrial,granular transmembrane potential,ATP content in the mitochondria were improved,with statistical significances(P<0.05).The improvement degrees were significantly higher in group B than in group A(P<0.05). Conclusions L-carnitine injection can improve the permeability transition pore of platelet mitochondrial and the membrane potential significantly and recover the mitochondrial function,thus increasing platelet energy supply and reducing platelet apoptosis.
