A retrospective analysis of cesarean section at Quang Nam hospital in the year 2002

Abstract:
479 cases of cesarean section in Quang Nam General Hospital were investigated retrospectively. Results showed a rate of 18.75% in 2002 year, which undergone a cesarean section (among them 5.22% had a mechanic cause) with 45.72% had the causes of the fetus and the adneca, 9.6% had abnormal presentations, 5.64% fetal distress. The 39.46% had utero-cervical causes, premature rupture of amnios mambrane and lack of progressive cervical dilatation 8.56%; the scar from previous cesarean section 21.3%, mother's diseases 9.6%. Although the tendance of enhancing in comparing with that of the last recent years. But in comparing with other regions of the country, this incidences was lower in accordance with WHO recommendations.
