Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the drug resistance of extended spectrum ?-lactamases(ESBLs) producing strains in order to provide references for the clinical application of drugs.METHODS ESBLs were detected by double synergy test and disk confirmatory test.Disk diffusion test was used for antimicrobial susceptibility and comparisons of the susceptibility rates were drew between the ESBLs producers and nonproducers.RESULTS ESBLs producers were 35 among the total 165 Enterobacteriaceae strains.Among the 35 strains 15 strains(27.8%) were Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella pneumoniae were 20 strains(30.3%).ESBLs were not detected in other Enterobacteriaceae strains. The rate of drug resistance of the ESBLs producers was higher than that of nonproducers.CONCLUSIONS ESBLs are the most important resistant mechanisms of Enterobacteriaceae to antibiotics. And it is very necessary to detect and control the ESBLs producers standardly for clinical microbiology department.
