Abstract:
Objective:To observe retinal hemodynamic changes after panretinal photocoagulation for the patients with early diabetic retinopathy. Methods:A total of 52 patients with 75 eyes with DR were enrolled in this study. They were all given standard panretinal photocoagulation, and use color Doppler flow imaging for detection of retinal blood flow dynamics, then gave 3 to 5 months followed up.Results:After treatment, patients with retinal blood perfusion significantly improved,PSV(t = 3.541,P = 0.012),EDV(t = 2.621,P = 0.027),PI(t = 3.321,P = 0.019) and Vm(t = 3.002,P = 0.021) were increased, while the RI decreased(t = 4.002,P = 0.007).After 3 to 5 months follow-up,the visual acuity of 66 eyes improved, efficiency 88.0%.Visual acuity was related with PSV(r = 0.784,P = 0.018),RI(r = 0.801,P = 0.008) and Vm(r = 0.752,P = 0.031).The retinal blood flow dynamics was an independent risk factor for visual acuity after photocoagulation(P = 0.018).Conclusion:Panretinal photocoagulation can improve retinal blood perfusion for early stage of diabetic retinopathy, which is related to improvement of postoperative visual prognosis.
