Abstract:
Objective The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnosis, perioperative management, and procedure's choice of carcinomatous cofonic obstruction. Methods 21 cases of carcinomatous colonic obstruction operated between January 1997 and January 2004,and related problems were discussed. Results The pre-operative diagnosis rate of carcinomatous colonic obstruction was only 28. 6% (6/21). 19 cases(90. 5% ) underwent single-stage resection. and 13 cases(68.4%) underwent one-stage anastomsisis including 7 cases of left carcinomatous colonic obstruction, there were no deaths and leaks. Conclusion It is the key to enhance pre-operative diagnosis and perioperativc management of carcinomatous colonic obstruction for rising the rate of single-stage resection and decreasing mortality and morbidity.
