Abstract:
The ultrastructure of the Iens with senile cataract was studied by scanning electron microscopy and freeze-fracture replicas under the transmission electron microscope. The results showed that. 1. The normal regular arrangement of the lens fibers disappeared. The fibers showed markablestructural changes. Large and small spaces appeared 2. The most characteristic change was that many morgagni s globules were clearly observed in the interfiberous spaces.
