Abstract:
Forehead advancement is a well accepted routine method o( surgical correction of craniosynostosis.However,it may lead to the formation of a dead space behind the frontal bone with the danger of postoperative infection.In order to eliminate the dead space,we have first introduced the "floating sagittal bar technique" in 1981.This method may reduce the dead space satisfactorily by lowering the parietal bone with the floating sagittal bar.It is our opinion that elimination of the intracranial dead space is the key to a successful operation.
