Abstract:
In this paper, we present determined concentrations of four trace elements, namely, copper, zinc, manganese, and magnesium in the serum and the hair, and several immunological parameters in the serum in 111 cases of motor neuron disease Among them 84 cases were males and 27 females. Age of onset ranged from 12 to 72 years. Duration of disease varied from 0.25 to 25 years. According to the clinical manifestations, there were 64 cases of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, 39 cases of progressive muscular atrophy and 8 cases of primary lateral sclerosis.
