Abstract:
Objective To establish a new inhibitory kinetic spectrophotometry for determination of trace antimony (Sb3+) in water based on the inhibitory effect of Sb3+ on the oxidated discolouration of Lauth's violett. Methods In NaAc-HCl buffer solution, pH 3.0 and reaction temperature was 100 ℃, trace Sb3+ produced remarkable inhibitory effect on the oxidated discolouration of Lauth's violet. The absorbances of inhibitory and non-inhibitory systems were determined at 610 nm and lg (Ai/A0) or ?A(?A=Ai-A0) were calculated. Results The influence of acidity and coexist anion on the determination was discussed. lg(Ai/A0) showed a good linear relation with cSb3+ in the range of 0.4-2.8 ?g/L. The detection limit of the present method was 0.4 ?g/L and the correlation coefficient was 0.998 0. Conclusion The method has a wide linearity range and is accurate, sensitive, suitable for determination of trace Sb3+ in the environmental water samples.
