Abstract:
A polarized light aniseikonia instrument was developed. Polarized light aniseikonia tests was used to examine 50 normal subjects without ocular abnormalities, 100 cases of anisometropia with spectacles correction and 7 cases wothout lense in one eye. The stereo-acuity of 50 cases of anisometropia was also measured. We also tested the last two groups using NAT determination. The value was same.A physiological aniseikonia was found among normal subjects reaching a highest value of about 1.5%. The degree of anisometropia is not direct proportional to aniseikonia. The test resuts have defeated our old view that the anisometropia beyond 3.0D can not be corrected by conventional glasses, insted, they can still be corrected by ordinary glasses. When the aniseikonia is higher than 4%. the stereo-acuity will disappear. The value is from 11% to 24% in 7 cases without lense in one eye.
