Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate ?_2—microglobulin and urine osmotic pres- sure of 74 patients with hyperlipidemia and 38 normal subjects over 45 years of age. There were significant increase in blood ?_2—microglobuhlin and decrease in urine osmotic pressure in the patients with hyperlipidemia. But there was no significant alteration in urine ?_2— microglobulin. These results seemed to indicate that hyperlipidemia could lead to the injury of glomerular filtration and the reabsorption of distal tubules. Lipidtoxic effect might play an important role in the renal injury in the patient with hyperlipidemia.
