A clinical research on the treatment for unstable intertrochanteric fractures of the aged with LCP

Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effect of treatment for unstable intertrochanteric fractures of the aged with LCP.Methods 51 patients with intertrochanteric fracture were included.24 cases were operated with LCP while 27 cases with DHS.Clinical assessments included operation details,complications and follow-up interviews were analyzed.Results Compared with DHS,operation with LCP has advantages of simple operation,short operation time (min)(68.7 ±17.2 vs 89.9 ±15.1 ,P ＜0.01),minor wound,less blood during(ml)(286.7 ±130.1 vs 416.3 ±177.0,P＜0.01)and after the operation(ml)(50.7 ±25.1 vs84.6 ±30.1,P＜0.01).higher reliability and fewer complications.Conclusion LCP is one of the ideal choices for the treatment of unstable in-tertrochanteric fractures of the aged.
