Situation of anemia in children with the malaria

Abstract:
An investigation was carried out in 3 groups of children: group A, children with malaria, age of 15 admitted to the Center for the Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh during 1-6/2000. Group B, children living in Dak O commune, Phuoc Long district, and Binh Phuoc province with symptoms of acute malarial infection during 4-6/2000. Group C, children living above mentioned commune without symptoms of malarial infection during 11/2000. The results have shown that among 43 children in group A, there were 27 children with malaria attack, 10 children with anemia malaria, 4 children with cerebral malaria. Children with the malarial blood pigment urination. 84% of children in group B with positive smear test. There are 8 children with P. faciparum infection, 6 children with P. vivax infection and 3 children with P. malariae infection in the group C.
