Abstract:
A retrospective cross-sectional study on 290 children in the Dak O commune in June 2000 to identify the rate of anemia, the causes of the anemia and the relation between them has shown that 31% children in the Dak O commune, Phuoc Long district. The anemia grade was mild with the average erythrocyte volume: 36% the main cause of anemia was malarial infection. The rate of anemia in men was the same as this in women. The compatriot Stieng had a higher risk of anemia. The value of the erythrocyte volume in children with abnormality of Hb found less than this in the normal children. The iron insufficiency found in the children with age of 5.
