- Abstract: Malaria is one of the three major infectious diseases posing a serious threat to human health worldwide. Microtubules and actin in Plasmodium are the main components of its cytoskeleton and play a crucial role in parasitic development, division, and invasion. Plasmodium cytoskeleton proteins exhibit significant differences from canonical cytoskeleton proteins, making them potential targets for antimalarial drugs. This review focuses on recent advancements in the study of microtubules and actin within the Plasmodium cytoskeleton, aiming to provide a reference for antimalarial drug research and development.
