- Abstract: This study reports a case of hydatidosis in a 27-year-old male from Suizhou, Hubei Province, a long-time resident of Wuhan. The patient visited the hospital for treatment of upper abdominal pain. CT tomography revealed a large cystic lesion in the left lobe of the liver. Hydatidosis was confirmed based on morphology. High-throughput sequencing analysis of the pathogenic microbial nucleic acids indicated that the pathogen was Echinococcus canadensis. The patient recovered and was discharged after cyst resection.
