Abstract:
Under the circumstances of poor transportation and backward economic and cultural development in the Hubei-Henan-Anhui revolutionary base areas, the Communist Party of China and the Soviet government established hospitals and related institutions, as well as trained medical staff, which is of great significance to ensure the combat effectiveness of the base areas and the development of medical undertakings. The medical construction went through several periods of initial establishment, development, defense of base areas, and three-year guerrilla warfare. During this period, numerous outstanding red medical staff emerged, who were loyal to the Party, firm in their beliefs, skilled in their profession, resilient in hardship, selfless in sacrifice, dedicated to others, and indifferent to fame and fortune. They made significant contributions to the development of revolutionary and medical undertakings. Exploring its origin is of great significance for promoting and inheriting the red spirit, as well as cultivating modern great physicians.
