Abstract:
Objective To assess the application of online monitoring and statistical process control (SPC) data-driven statistical process control dynamic warning in medical waste management to reduce the risk of medical waste loss and leakage. Methods In view of the strong dynamic, temporal and non-linear characteristics of data in the intelligent management process of radio frequency identification (RFID) medical waste, the entire process supervision and control was traced, the dynamic flow of medical waste was monitored and controlled in real time, and the dynamic data-driven technology was employed to automatically adjust the abnormal determination to achieve standard-level early warning. The medical failure mode and effect analysis was adopted to evaluate the quality of medical management for the RFID intelligent medical waste system. Results After the implementation of the RFID intelligent management measures for medical waste, the healthcare failure mode and effect analysis (HFMEA) showed that, the priority values of the risk indices of 11 potential failure modes were significantly decreased (P < 0.05). Conclusion The RFID intelligent management of medical waste can achieve dynamic response and control functions and provide real-time feedback and correction, thereby improving the quality of medical waste risk management and reducing the risk of medical waste loss and leakage.
