Abstract:Children under 6 years of age are the key population for achieving China s 2030 strategic goal of myopia prevention and control, and constitute the "source" frontline for reducing myopia incidence. Currently, myopia among young children in China remains a serious concern, and faces multiple challenges such as increased screen exposure and insufficient outdoor activities. The study systematically reviews the current prevalence of myopia and pre-myopia in children under 6 years of age, clarifies the patterns of refractive development and the application of hyperopia reserve reference values in young children, and identifies that a refractive state of approximately +1.00 D mild hyperopia represents the preferred developmental status for children aged 3-5 years. Furthermore, it proposes a tiered monitoring and service pathway targeting hyperopia reserve in young children, and discusses influencing factors, intervention measures, and "multi disease co-prevention" strategies. The purpose of the study is to provide an evidence base for establishing a scientific and efficient full chain system of myopia prevention and control for children under 6 years of age, so as to accelerate the achievement of the national strategic goals for myopia prevention and control.
