Abstract:
This paper summarizes the experience of professor WEI Shaobin in treating endometriosis infertility (EI) using the cycle sequential therapy. It is believed that liver constraint, kidney deficiency and blood stasis internal accumulation are the core pathogenesis of EI. Accordingly, the treatment principle is to soothe the liver, nourish the kidney and activate blood, with sequential therapy administered according to the menstrual cycle. For the preconception period, a four-phase therapeutic approach was developed. During the menstrual phase, a self-made Jieyu Tiaojing Formula (解郁调经方) was administered to soothe the liver, regulate qi, dispel stasis and relieve pain. During the postmenstrual phase, self-made Zihe Yupao Formula(滋和育泡方) was administered to nourish the kidney, replenish blood, and regulate liver qi. During the intermenstrual phase, self-made Shugan Tongluo Formula (疏肝通络方) was administered to soothe the liver, promote blood circulation, warm yang, and unblock collaterals. During the premenstrual phase, self-made Peiyuan Zhuyun Formula (培元助孕方) was used to tonify the kidney and fortify the spleen, regulate menstruation and assist fertility. A two-phase therapeutic approach was developed for the contraceptive period. During the non-menstrual phase, self-made Xingqi Xiaozheng Formula (行气消癥方) was used to move qi, remove concretions, and dissipate masses. During the menstrual phase, the therapeutic principles and prescriptions were the same as those applied in the preconception period. Additionally, Chinese patent medicines, auricular acupuncture, acupoint application, and other treatments are employed to further improve clinical efficacy.
