Abstract:
Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the main causes of chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) worldwide, especially in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Early diagnosis is crucial for slowing down the progression of DN and improving the prognosis of patients. Traditional diagnostic methods, such as measurement of urinary microalbumin (mALB) and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), often fail to detect early renal injury because structural renal injury may occur before albumin excretion. This study aims to optimize clinical diagnostic methods for DN, reduce patient risk of onset, and provide a theoretical basis for further exploration of diagnostic biomarkers of DN by evaluating the diagnostic value of multiple novel serum and urine biomarkers in the early detection of DN.
