Abstract:
Excessive hemorrhage and irrigation fluid absorption during endoscopic surgery may cause severe complications, while traditional monitoring methods are inaccurate and invasive. To address such problems, our research team jointly developed with industry partners an endoscopic surgery monitoring system employing multisensor fusion technique. This system achieves dynamic blood loss quantification through photoelectric measurement of hemoglobin concentration in effluent fluid and precisely calculates irrigation absorption using strain-gauge sensors with urine-compensation algorithms based on volume-balance principles, integrated with real-time threshold alerts. Validation confirms measurement errors ≤ ±4% for hemorrhage and ≤±2% irrigation fluid for absorption. Clinical applications in transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), and hysteroscopic surgeries demonstrate high accuracy and stability. The system effectively enhances surgical safety by preventing TURP syndrome, urinary tract infections, and major hemorrhage, showing significant clinical translational value.
