- Abstract: Cholestatic liver injury (CLI) is a hepatic disorder characterized by the abnormal accumulation of bile acids in the body due to various etiologies, and without timely intervention, it can progress to liver fibrosis, liver cirrhosis, and liver failure and even lead to death. Studies have shown that modulating oxidative stress can alleviate lipid peroxidation and cellular damage, thereby suppressing inflammation and cell apoptosis. In recent years, remarkable progress has been made regarding the active components and compound prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of CLI by regulating oxidative stress. This article systematically reviews the current status of research on the mechanism of action and clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of CLI by regulating oxidative stress.
