Abstract:
The recent reissuance of the Assisted Dignity Act, brought forward in July 2024, has renewed public discourse surrounding dignity-based end-of-life care. This paper examines the implications of these ongoing social debates by analyzing the legislative terminology used in countries that have implemented such systems. Through an exploration of the values embedded in the names of these laws, the study seeks to elucidate the normative justifications for institutionalization and to derive relevant policy implications.
