- Abstract: Artifacts appearing during ultrasound examinations are commonly observed not only in conventional ultrasound but also in vascular ultrasound. Artifacts can distort positive findings, leading to different results or appearing as negative findings, or conversely, make non-existent findings appear present. In vascular ultrasound, grayscale imaging is fundamental, but images from Doppler modes—such as color Doppler, spectral Doppler, and power Doppler—play an even more crucial role in clinical diagnosis and treatment planning. This paper therefore aims to examine common artifacts observed in vascular ultrasound examinations.
