Abstract:
Abscess formation involving the trapezius muscle with pyogenic arthritis is a rare clinical condition. Intramuscular abscesses are generally treated with open surgical drainage, but visualizing the surgical field can be challenging. In addition, a large skin incision is required, leading to significant bleeding and potential damage to the surrounding healthy tissue. This paper describes the case of a 61-year-old female patient with an intramuscular abscess with pyogenic arthritis who was treated successfully using endoscopic surgical drainage.
